Technical Rochester 2G Questions

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by indestructableforce, Dec 29, 2017.

  1. I'm going through the 2G on my beater parts getter and I'm not sure which needle and seat would be better. Both are new .119", one windowed and the other not. I'm primarily driving back and forth to work but I will be doing some towing in the future so I bought the smallest of the new br*** floats to have a little more volume in the bowl. In my Quadrajet book it says there's a negligible difference in flow between the two on a Q-jet but they're 2 different carbs. Anybody experienced with the 2G have a preference? The old seat was solid, the rebuild kit came with a windowed seat and I bought the solid .119" one just in case...

BTW, anyone got any tips on disabling the "APT" on the late carbs? Mine is a '78 large base. My Rochester book touches on the APT, recommending disabling it, but is very unclear on the procedure and I haven't had any luck finding anything online about the 2-barrel APT.
