rochester 2gc barb number.....doesnt make sense

    carburetor #7008597........can that number be possible.

    Seems very likely, just a quick search brought these numbers up for 2gc for jeep motors;
    7024041,7024042,7026082,7026086,7026089,7026144,7026145,
    7027040,7027082,7027089,7036144,

    Yup, Nash knows what he's talkin about there sonny........they made a bagillon of those dawm things.......and put them on anything that moved.......

    Lots of Rochester carb numbers start with 7008 in the '55-'56 era.

    im a guessing here that if it doesnt have the id tag you cant really tell. im trying to buy a somewhat matching set or rochester small base carbs. i see a lot that look alike. some of them must be big base....cant tell by the picture. they are casting numbers indeed. when did the big base start and finish and when did the small base start and fin ish
