I am in the process of rebuilding a 4GC carburetor from a '53 Oldsmobile to be used on a flathead Ford. I am dis***embling it, and have gotten the base off as well as the choke mechanism and throttle linkage. I can not get the air horn separated from the carb body. I have removed all 12 screws that appear to hold the airhorn to the car body. It still seems to be firmly attached. It just feels like there is another mechanical connection, but, look as I might, I can't see anything. Anybody got any tips? The way it feels, I don't think more force is the answer at this time.
I think there may be a screw inside the air horn, but I can't remember for sure and don't know the count.
Found it! It's not inside the air horn; it's in a deep hole on the perimeter of the air cleaner mounting rim. Thanks guys. The H.A.M.B. is the best.
