Rochester jet question

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Fif-t-3, Aug 5, 2013.

  1. I'm building a Rochester 2G, 3 deuce setup to run on my 327. What size jets are you Rochester guys running in yours? Currently the center carb has 48's and the outer carbs have 55's. Is this a common or even worthwhile setup? The motor is not stock but doesn't have a crazy wild cam either. I don't know if it matters or not, but it is in a 53 Chevy with an auto transmission. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Tony

A really good general rule when migrating an O.E. carb from one application to another is to ALWAYS build the carb to stock configuration. This gives you a repeatable baseline. If necessary, you can tune from there.

    FWIW
I have a rebuild kit from speedway and the center carb is supposed stay at 56 and the dumpers are supposed to go down to 55. I have 3 matching rochester 2gc not originally built or a 3x2. All mine started life with 56s though.

  4. Thanks for the replies! I bought these 3 carbs together on an Edelbrock manifold. The jets in question are the ones that came in them. I read somewhere else where someone suggested that the center carb should be 56-57 and the outer carbs 55. I'm trying to make sure that I get them rebuilt correctly for my application. Thanks again.
