Hot Rods Rocker arm ratio's in general

    This is not about break-in, oil, or spring pressure, I am well aware of those problems and conditions. I was simply asking if there is a extra load to the cams and lifters going to higher ratio rocker arms. I am aware of the extra lift the high ratio's create, what I want to know is if there is hidden load just because the leverage is shorter with high ratio arms. Thanks for all the input though,

    Joe, I would say yes but only above where the lower ratio rocker was. Let’s say the new valve lift is .050” more and the spring pressure gained #25 in that extra lift. But in my opinion it’s at the top of cam ramp and there less than .050”. If you’ve been running 1.5’s with no wear then I believe a 1.6 would not cause any even thou at the very beginning of the lift it is at a higher rate of speed. Minutely….
