Hot Rods Rocket ID help

    Found and olds rocket motor.. now i have went through all the archives and previous posts and cant find the block number its 574534-4 CFD

    The heads are 571870 #16 some sites say its a 57 371 some say its a 58 371..

    Are those the cast numbers? does it have a stamped number on the block?

    did they ever sell Oldsmobiles in Canada?

    Chad, I'm around the corner from you in Kitchener.

    Not sure on the later 371s and 394s, as I into the 303's and 324's but here's a bump. @Paul or @GOATROPER02 should be able to help you out.

    Yep the numbers is cast into the belhousing...cant see any numbers stamped on the block on the p***enger side ?......yep sold lots of olds up here....lol

    There is also a 328 on the bellhousing...... there are no other numbers on this block..

    '58 stamped number is on pad above center exhaust port on p***enger side and starts with the letter "B"

    My buddy just sent me that pic. Seems i over looked the 4 1/8 . i am gonna ***ume its a 394. With maybe some 371 heads by the looks of it ?

    looks like a '63 394 block
    were the #16 heads bolted to that block?
    didn't know that was possible with the push rod spacing..

    No they aren't bolted to them.. just laying beside them.. sound like a mismatched thing lol...

    Might be a good thing to stay away from...could probably get it real cheap now i bet.... lmao
