  2. Looks like a better day up there, than we had down here today. Very wet.
First and sixth pics should be familia to some here, as this truck was takin for a holiday in the States, and KiwiKev has featured it here.
Nice to see Grease Martins red 32 there, I only read today about his tragic shed fire, and that he got burnt getting cars out. Never met him, but know he's very well thought of, and hope he's healing well. Gotter love that blown Ardun.
Phone pics look great from my phone, got any more? :D

Day started with drizzle, but cleared by the start of the open day.
No more pics as I was only taking a few to try out my phone. Most cars were gone when I took photos. Possibly 150 cars there.

Yeah, Grease and I go way back. Over 30 years, actually. I got a quick Email from Golly yesterday about it, but don`t know all the details. I hear he pushed the Dragster out, then went back for the Coupe. Don`t know about the `36. Anyone know anything more?

People talking yesterday said that the 'salt' roadster and a dragster were lost and also a lot of memorabilia. The '36 roadster was elsewhere. - This of course is only talk/rumour, and I cannot confirm this.

Is that a marine carb on the "Y" block or something else?

^^^^^^^^Rumoured to be the red '32 3 window in pic above.
Saw him at the Rocket open day, but never talked to him.

only 2 photos - of ‘32 5 windows that I have not seen before !
Both I believe are NZ new cars (imported from Canada in 1932)

Please feel free to post any other photos if you like !

Thanks Clem. This is the first I had heard about the shed fire. Tragic.

    Just to clarify;
Shed fire was 10 years ago, when this thread was started, although it did come up talking with Gary/Grease today, as he mentioned the impact it had on him in the following years.

I just added a couple of photos to an old thread.
I might have been better to have started a new thread, as I couldn’t alter the ***le.
Sorry to all, for the confusion.

A few more borrowed from another website, taken by a friend, (hopefully he doesn’t mind), and all credit to him, as he is a much better photographer than I am ! Something that I noticed today, was a lot of four doors, which is mainly what we had in NZ. Coupes and roadsters were the exception.
Most appear to be recent builds, - if the off topic wheels and modern paint colours are anything to go by …..

This was the only one I can show…..

NOT from the open day, but same location, taken by the same photographer friend, who was also the panelbeater on this in 1993.

This spent a little time at ‘Rocket Speed Equipment’ last year while undergoing the NZ Certification process.

Now back home in the garage.
