    If it were me I'd go with the nailhead. I think they look much better.

    Dont think I haven't thought about selling the nailhead and spending some money with you, Tony.

    the plan is to keep it a street rod
    why confuse things with pushing the early Olds?

    ^ Hell if it's going to be a street rod, why push the early Buick?

    So buy me a new chassis. I didn't ask for your opinion on that. At least when I'm done it won't still be purple, have a yellow suspension and saw blade mags. I have to use what I have. But thanks so much for the help.

    Goat roper, that is a beautiful olds.

  9. I like the Rockets. I've been helping out a buddy with his 324 for his 54 oldsmobile first time I've ever played with one pretty cool engine. Now I can name parts laying in a pile at the swap meet.

    The heads are about 2" longer, another 2" in the bell housing and about 3" on the h2o side. Then there is the extra weight of that high Nicole block and heads to hold together with torque of a steam engine.

    The Olds block has a partial integral bell housing that makes adapting a later model one piece case automatic a bit more involved. The Buick block is more easily adapted to a later automatic transmission and that alone would sway my choice to the Buick.

    Another beautiful and powerful Olds from Tony - awesome! Those Buicks are mighty pretty too.... I guess you are gonna have to find another project car and use 'em both!!!!

    I know this is an old'ish thread but c'est la vie...

    I went with a nailhead first time around, a '55 322. Which ever way you go be sure to include @GOATROPER02 in your plans.

    We had the front crossmember moved forward 1.5inches and the original firewall reversed to squeeze it in. However, we ran a Spalding Flamethrower which complicated things a tad as it leans so far back.

    Couldn't have been happier with the motor. Sounded awesome, reliable, tons of torque.

    I would choose the Buick and both have dual quads available which I would use over the 6-2's. E-sway has Olds manifolds for sale all the time. Good luck

    Droolworthy........:cool::cool:

    I would love that sitting between the front rails of my 32, instead of the SBC that will be there instead, but for me a SBC is a bit easier to look after over here in the UK :(
    Still remember the noise you lot made as you pulled into that lot on South Congress on your way over to Ryan's place just before LSRU last April :cool:

  19. My votes for the Olds. Here's three Olds engines of mine. Red one is a 324" for my 41' Ford convert. The other two are 371" w/ six two's and one with 671 blower & 800 Holley.
