Rocket Racing - did they build 16" wheels back in the day?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by halibrandsteve, Oct 27, 2013.

  1. Did Rocket Racing Wheels offer 16" wheels originally? I found a pair for sale that the owner swears are 16x11s but I have my doubts. Don't want to ship them here and find that they are 15x10s as that size is useless to me. I'm not a chrome steel wheel guru so any help would be appreciated.

Here's a pic of the wheels in question:

    Thanks,
    Steve

He's probably measuring to the outside of the wheel.
Get him to measure where the bead of the tire sits.

  3. Already asked - he swears he's doing it right but I don't think so - just looking for confirmed history of sizes available to confirm or rule out the possibility that these are real 16s.

Anyone have an old catalog or ad showing sizes available?

    Thanks,
    Steve

Never seen that style wheel in 16" ...I agree that the guy is probably measuring wrong....a 15" wheel will measure about 16 1/4"-16 1/2" overall diameter with a true 16" wheel would measure larger than 17" overall...

Verification that they were available in 16" sizes does not positively confirm that those particular ones are. I would have him send you good clear pictures with a tape measure or yardstick showing the actual dimensions just to be safe.
