Rocketeers, a lifter question.

    Will 49-51 303 lifters fit a 54-56 324?
    They look like the exact same thing, am I overlooking something? [​IMG]

    what's the matter,won't they go in? did you clean out the lifter bores real good? the diameter is the same .842" until at least 1956.1957 and later had .921"

    I was overlooking something! Actually I learned something.
    49-51 uses a 1/4" pushrod later motors use a 5/16" pushrod.
    Those early lifter are only good to about 4800 rpm.
    There's a set on Ebay I was watching but I'm not going to buy them now.

    i saw them on there too,and wondered what the difference was.i figured there had to be something since all the parts books listed them different.thanks for sharing guys!
