I was starting to wonder if there was anywhere on the whole world wide web where anyone was talking Rockets! I have a 1956 Olds Holiday that I've had since high school and I'm now in my 40's so I know the car pretty good-also have a jet boat with a 455 olds and jacuzzi wj - a wriedt spoiler '73 vintage. Man oh man, I'm seeing parts on here that I tried like crazy to get before-I guess I'm in the right spot.Anyone want to post some links to Olds valve train tech or something-sure would be nice...thanks pete p.s. This is probably a shot in the wind but anyone with a Rover p4 or similar-I got one and would like to make a really cool car out of it
Pete, I just acquired my first Olds in late Sept, a cherry 1962 F85 Cutl*** Convertible. Been googling and ebaying for parts (same as you I guess). Am hoping I found the right spot at last. With only 80K orig, it has about a dozen piddling small problems that follow 46 years of being on the road. Things like the distributor needing the centrifugal weight pivots cleaned and lubed maybe a Vacuum advance unit; and the blower motor lubed. Most serious was a small gas tank leak and a leaking rear wheel cylinder.. I sure would like to see some pics of your 56. I have always thot the 1954 and the 56 Super 88's were the two prettiest cars Olds ever made!! Am having a guy 'smallify' a pic for an avatar.. Maybe tonite.
Try and do a search in the cl***ifieds, but keep checking there is alot of useful info on here at times.
I have a 1956 olds 2dr hardtop with all gl*** except back gl*** broken. Salvage ***le and probably messed up at that. Car sit in mothers backyard 15 years plus, not stolen but dont know how hard it will be to get the ***le sorted out. Been there done that hate the h***le. I do have a 1956 MOTORS manual for reference. It is NOT for sale.(Dads)
