Event Coverage Rocky's excellent Birthday...

[ATTACH=full Last Thursday we got 6-8 inches of spring snow. By Saturday the 18th it was all gone and the roads were clean and dry. The 18th was also my birthday. I've been cooped up in my house all winter and my 34 has been parked in my kid's garage for over a month so I decided my birthday was going to be something as simple as jumping in my coupe and just drive around the city visiting friends and catching up on news. I didn't take many photos, never think of posting a thread on my birthday but it was sooooo rewarding just getting out on the street on a 73 degree day with my hot rod. I stopped over at my buddy, Gary's place to find him wrenching on his g***er-style 50 chevy coupe. Tim has been kind enough to post the little bit of video I took of the car idling in Gary's garage.
Blasted over to my buddy, Jamie's place to find him block sanding on his bronze and cream 56 chevy bel air hardtop. It's gona be beautiful when it's done. We caught up on winter news and I idled past the crew installing a new roof on a house we're buying.
I bombed around a litle more, stopping at a 7-11 for a cold Diet Dr Pepper and then going home to find Mrs Rocky had a nice dinner all ready for me. Ahhhh...A really nice, low stress day.

Happy belated b day. Yesterday Rapid City had a cars and coffee, instead of milling around in the parking lot (which people were doing) they went on a cruz thru the black hills up to Deadwood sd.

 

Happy Birthday! Sounds like you had a great day! (I went to college in Seward; in '76 we had snow on May 9th.)
There's nothing like hopping in the hot rod to go visit some friends!

Happy Birthday Rocky, Glad to hear you were able to get that cool coupe, visit some friends and just drive around and enjoy the day.

I too had a birthday this week and although I didn't visit any friends due to the Governor's social distancing orders I did get the old sedan out and drive aimlessly around town, even hauled a coupe of bags of trash to the recycling center.

And like you got home to a great birthday dinner, all in all a perfect day. HRP
