I just got mine in the mail today. I should bee able to read it at work today. I hope it is a good one.
Yea, I got mine in the mail this week. I really liked the format and the fact that it's a little more car based rather than just hairdos and rockabilly bands.
It's Ok. I have my criticisms both good and bad. But I will send a letter to the staff rather than cry about it on a message board.
hey can you guys tell me how the write up on the Rockabilly Rod Reunion is?? I am still waiting to get mine....
I agree that its better then old skool rodz daddio. I like the fact that I can get more then just one rag on the cars I like to see in a magazine. I was talkin to Roger and Zombie of Rod and Kulture, they were talkin about maybe settin the magazine to come out every couple of months. Now that would be cool. I get tired of waiting for the next issue. Anyway come by the booth at Vegas for those who are goin to VLV. I'll be runnin the booth for those guys, so stop in and say howdy.
Where can I go to subscribe to this mag? I tried looking for it and found Traditional Rod & Kulture Illistrated mag that is only 4 issues for 20 bucks. Also what are some other traditional rod mags, or jalopy's or rat rods, whatever you wanna call em? Thanks for any info on that!
SMF: Try Mike at: http://www.thehotrodcompany.com/ Or me in Oz (under recontruction): http://www.kustomink.com.au/
I picked up my copy at the March Meet. I still haven't read enough to give a really informed opinion [once I do I'll drop them a line if I have anything constructive to say] but it looks better than CKD was at the end. So far it seems like it's what CKD could have been if they hadn't gone down hill around the time **** left.
mine is sitin in the cab of my truck, got plunked down on my front porch yesterday just in time so i could haul it along on this trip... looks well put together so far... T
got mine monday, read most of it, i really liked it, the pics are great, and 20 for the year ain't bad for 4 good issues
the address to the site is www.rodandkulture.com it's still a work in progress but it does give u info on how to get a subscription.
Oh alright, that was the site I was at before. Thanks for the info. I will subscribe to it then. Is it a big mag or a tiny one? I know that some new mags and all are really small and not too great... Shawn-
Ok I subscribed online. I put that I will send a check in. Will they send me the mag FIRST and then I send them a check or do I have to mail them the check before they send the first issue to me?
You send cheque. They send mag. FWIW, I can't understand why so many of guys continue to get subs (especially on an unproven product).....you pay less but get it later than anyone else or not at all. How many times do you have to get burnt before you learn?
So far the mailing is going well. Here on the East coast we get them fast because the printer is in Kentucky, and thats where they are mailed from. But I've had a few E mails from people saying they got it already. Those people so far have all been subscribers. Not saying that everyone is going to be happy, but thats true for the "big" mags as well. Spike
if by "big" and "tiny" you mean the literal size? this is not one of the small sized ones, usually called a digest size if i member right, its a full size rag, and some pretty decent photos from what i have read of it so far. if the rest are as well done as the first, and this one isnt a fluke comming out this well just cause they had more time to think the mutha out before going to press, it'll be a decent mag for sure. and here is one more tidbit to ponder on the "why bother to subscribe" front... seeing as how the gold chainer driven mags have a larger following than ones of a "more down to earth and suitable taste" (hows that for pollitical correctness?) from guys that drive billitmobiles or just dream about them, a lot of mag racks even at the larger sellers dont have these books at all. so if i gotta drive down there, take the time to look for the mag, dont find it, have to ask them to get it, wait for it to come in, then drive back and pick it up... what kind of time did i actually save by "getting it a week early" at the news stands? if it comes to me at my house a week later than most of the stands have it, and its a little tattered cause mister macfeely bent the corners beating the neighbors dog away with my magazine, i dont care. its worth not having the hastle and bother of getting it on my own and a bit cheaper. convieniance has its price and not having to deal with the pimple faced kid at the bookstore is one of them i for one am willing to pay. my .02
