Rode along on a Rod Run to Tortilla Flats yesterday. Tortilla Flats is an old Pony Express station about 27 miles to the NE of Apache Junction, AZ. Really good to get out and run with some good ole fashion hot rods.
Chip Quinn puts the run together. He’s our local louver guru. Great guy. He starts out near downtown Phoenix with a stop along the way. He hits the east side with a stop to meet up with our east siders. I ran my first one last year and there were over 50 cars of various types. Looked like there were about the same number yesterday.
Looks like a fun time! I envy you guys. We got over 80" of snow here so far & winters only half over!
It was pretty chilly in AZ yesterday, I drove my Corvette up to the Phoenix area...but at least the sun was out!
Chip posted a couple of photos on FB and said it was real chilly. I keep going back to the photo of the little bobber truck with the 32 grill. that just spins my wheels.
Thanks for posting; nice to see runs still happening in other areas. Walked past my coupe, and took the my snowblower out yesterday.
Little COLD and WET for me yesterday in my neck of the woods... That was in the late afternoon once the clouds lifted.
Looks like it was a great turnout! Fingers crossed I’ll have my truck on the road and be able to join in next year!
