some one commented that they understood one of the Ardun engines was an 80K engine, how do you put that kind of money in an engine? I know it has a alum. block., ardun heads, blower, etc.

Time, scarcity of parts, supply and demand. So, would you rather have one $500K car or ten $50K cars?

That might work for this time, but it's the same thing every issue. I don't mind the wait, and I sure ain't canceling, but i wish they wouldn't tease me with "It's coming" and then it doesn't.

I got mine last week. It's always after Barnes and Nobles gets theirs which ****s. Subscribers should definitely get theirs first. However, The Rodder's Journal rules and I'll happily take it whenever it finally shows up.

This seems to be the same rant every time a new issue is released. Those at the Journal should listen up. At least give us a sensible reason why we get ours so late.

I had around $300 in the Ardun in my avatar, lots of used parts, I admit, but even if I had bought them new it probably would have been around $900...how times change.

Nothing yet for me either... I called yesterday and checked to see if my subscription may have expired...I'm still good. They said I would need to wait until 11/8 before they would send out a replacement issue... Hopefully it will be there today!!

I'm still waiting for mine--and I live in Southern California!

I called the magazine on Monday, and they said everything had shipped to subscribers on Oct. 8--and to please allow 6 weeks for delivery, which would bump it to something like Nov. 19.

Six weeks for delivery--in the same state!

On the other hand, if you've ever seen who they have working at the post office today, six weeks sounds really fast.

Just got mine yesterday, and I'll tell you what- Its a good one! I was starting to get worried with the large number gold chainer rides featured in the past few issues- This one goes back to the nice balance of tasteful 'Street Rods' and traditional Hot Rods, so there is something for both the purist and the modern adaptation folks.

I truly agree. But you cannot think that any of the beautiful Deuces with all new Ardun flathead motors, built in very professional shops, were done for anyone who doesn't have very deep pockets.

So depending on your definition of a gold-chainer and how much work was actually done by any of the owners, none of whom I know personally, let's just agree they are very, very nice cars.

Wow , I don't have mine yet but when I visited TRJ they were a small operation and they have the subs done elsewhere I think , but really I don't care , the TRJ rules and if I don't have the current issue you can always read an old one again :D On the other hand I have had to stop the Goodguys Gazette as the price for international Subscribers doubled from $60-120 and it isn't a pinch on TRJ........at $60 it was a cool read from this side of the pond and I can understand a slight rise but double ??

Most magazines get to the newstands well before their subscription counterparts. I always hate going to the store and seeing a mag I subscribed to on the stand long before I get mine. I want to stand there and read it. I like TRJ I just lost interrest in it. There some great cars and writers just got bored with it.
