You're getting it from Autobooks and lifetime subscribers like me (#499) still haven't seen a smell of issue 86. Man, I just don't understand. Something is just very wrong here.

  3. Not exactly a great feeling to know that TRJ is shipping to retailers before International Subscribers (& International Lifetime Subscribers) are getting their copies.

I got an email a month ago telling me issue 86 was on its way, and I still haven't seen it. I hope Steve can pull it off and get things back on track, but I'm not too optimistic yet. Considering how long it has been since #85, and my sub goes through #92, and I turn 79 next month, I guess this has turned into a lifetime subscription. Hope I live long enough to see those issues.

Gary I saw the stack of them on the registration table and asked if they were for sale, the lady said no just take one if you like. I mentioned that to a friend and he did the same.

A great way to rub salt into the wounds for subscribers who have paid but not received their paid for copy

Gave up. Ordered cover #3 from Auto Books. Cost a little more but I'll have one. I was one of the first lifetime subscribers. Guess they never said what lifetime?

I have always wondered why they put out different cover versions.
To me this would seem confusing if you saw them in the shop, and surely it added cost to the production run.
Does anybody know why it was done ?
    Thanks.

Well back when there were two different covers one was subscriber and was for over the counter sales. IDK when three covers became a thing but it sounds like an income generator supported by the “completists”, those with the desire to collect the whole set.

  11. I believe @Fordors is correct - the two different covers distinguished the newsstand version from the subscription version. That said, the bar code that appears on the newsstand versions would have accomplished this distinction by itself, but if you're going to print a separate cover just to include a bar code, you might as well design a different cover all together, right? I don't know what the logic would be to justify a third cover.

Still waiting for mine, sent an email yesterday, no response. Beginning to look like I'm getting left out.

As a consolation I got my latest Wheel Hub today 3 good hot rod features. Pinkee's chopped yellow 33 highboy coupe, a Hollywood Hot Rods built chopped 36 3 window and a multi builder 40 convertible. High dollar cars but with HAMB friendly 15 & 16 inch wheels and tires. Out of the reach of most of us but fun to look at.

I’m hoping #86 is coming soon, been having TRJ withdrawals for sometime now. And since print is nearly dead, it’s hard to get a fix these days.

Still waiting and getting more frustrated by the day. Messages to customer service go unanswered and attempts to call gets me "mailbox is full" message and an immediate hang up. They have definitely made it impossible to reach anyone in any way. :(:(:(

Got mine from the HAMB link( Autobooks)....Enjoyed it. Just got my second Hot Rod Quarterly today, all Pro Touring issue. No comparison between the two.... I'm glad Hot Rod is still breathing, but it's like fast food at my age, bad on the body and leaves you hungry for more......hope Coonan pulls it off, also hoping the guys at Hop Up make another one. Lifelong mag junkie at 58, and looks like the world isn't as welcoming anymore.

So just out of curiosity, how much does one pay for an issue from Autobooks? Or is it listed on their website?
I’ve never seen an issue so have no idea

now datz funny..... I did it all online and was $15. total. Now I'm a big fan of TRG. I know Steve from back when he wasn't with TRG and we both had more hair. I ordered the cover with Ray Bartlet's 4t C-Dan delivery on the cover because I know Ray and his passenger, my hero Butch .
Now to the question ?? How can I order this magazine out of California, and get it sooner than if it comes from Denton Md. (2 1/2hours from my house) I bet it comes out of a "Mailing House" or the "printer" but still watzz-up ??
