LarzBahrs! Not ONLY is that Crosley Faro-O-Road something to see & read about, the REST of that "micro-car" museum in Georgia is a fascinating trip, as well!

Guys, check out that link! It is worth your time.

    Heck YEAH, trailer!

(And, Lars, I meant Farm-O-Road, of course. Thanks for that link; I'm going to spend some time there!)

Though ALL of us like full-size, modified cars, it really IS interesting to see some of the UNUSUAL attemps at builidng UNCONVENTIONAL cars, don't you think? Take the Stout Scarab and Lewis' Aerocar, both back in the '30s. Then, for downright WEIRD, there was Fuller's Dymaxion -- looked sort of like the original weinermobile, only it was a SERIOUS attempt!

These are both 67 model 111's
The purple one is loaded with a built honda cbr600f4i with nitrous pushing 250 hp. This car weighs 500lbs. Runs under 10sec in the quarter. CRAZY RIDE 20130820_200930.jpg

My Dad bought me one when I was in the 5th grade, like the one in the picture, called a Driver Training Car...not quite as kewl as a real KM, but once you milled the head a little, and replaced the muffler with a straight pipt.....you were hot rodding! upload_2015-1-14_13-30-10.png

When I was in high school I sent a quarter and got the King Midget catalog. There was something fascinating about the car then, and there is even now. Wholesale price was $661 and they threw in a dealership if you bought a car.

A high school kid could dream of saving up his lawn mowing and grocery bagging money and buying one.

Of all the attempts to launch a new car company after WW2, like Tucker, Kaiser, Frazer, Crosley, Davis and many others, King Midget lasted the longest.

It would be a cool thing to have and drive around if you lived in a small town or a suburban neighborhood without a lot of traffic.

That is a minimalist car, too much power or luxury would pervert the purity of the design. Not too big of an engine. Anything too powerful would be no fun to drive. One owner compared going 55 (top speed of a stock Midget) to driving a land speed record car.

Have thought of building one. The body can be built with a brake and a spot welder. Suspension from an ATV and small engine and trans of your choice.
