aint yo tpical 54 for sure! that thing is slick! wonder what the chances of it showing up in dago for the Disaster show next month are - would love to check it out in person! hahaaa
Here is some of the other stuff that got welded in last night. Driver rocker patch and welded and done... Rogers been down at the shop helping get this girl done. He fabbed up these floor patches and I got them welded last night... Plus the hood peak is finally filed out. The hood still needs a bit of work, but now you should be able to see what's going down. More, soon...
Roger and I had been going back and forth on what to do about his wheels. Work with what he had? Get something different? etc. He shows up the other night with 3 15 x 5.5 chevy wheels, and a later one that had a slightly different center and was welded, not riveted. We where dying to reverse them, but had to find a 4th wheel, and do the math to see if they'd fit. Well a day later I find one down the street, do some arithmetic, and before I got the okay here's what we ended up with... Doing the Chevy wheels was way easier than doing them for a Ford, because the Chevy ones have dimples where the rivets go so they just kind of locate themselves. Here's the process... Clean the rivets so they can be easily located... Center punch the rivet, then drill it about halfway out. Then take a carbide bur and ream the rest of the rivet out to weaken it. Take a punch with a big hammer and knock the rivets out, then put it in a press and push the center out of the hoop. All the parts are at the sand blaster right now. When they come back I'll go over assembling, truing, and welding them. So stoked. Wait till you see them mounted with the spider ring, etc. Meanwhile, I have been blocking my ass off. My fucking fingers are bleeding. Should have pics of it in primer soon!
Love the headlight treatment. Also looking forward to seeing your work on reversing the rims, as I want to do some later this year.
