My father served for 28 yrs between the Army and the Air Force. He retired just last February and been a garage tinkerer full time ever since. We went in together on a 48 dodge d24 bus coupe so now I need to get his butt on here to join the family!

I spent 2 years in the Army from January 1971 to January 1973 and spent most of the time at Fort Benning, Georgia as a clerk-typist. Thanks to all the others who served....

  7. USAF 1998-2009. Heavy Equipment operator in RED HORSE squadron. Served 3 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. My big influence in hotrodding was from an old army vet I met when I was stationed in SD. Should have a book written on him. Carl Satterlee was his name. What a man. Had 63 cars, one for each year of his age. Drove himself to the hospital while having a heart attack in his 4-speed 327 65 El Camino. Died while there from several strokes.

U.S.Army,1969-72. 18 months with the 25th infantry division,Vietnam. A lot of times when I'm working alone in the garage I think of all the hot rodders who didn't make it back to finish the cars they had waiting at home.
