Roll call of military veterans past and present

Me: US Navy 2000-2005 Active Duty jumpin outta Helo's and mannin the guns at HSL-40, HSL-42...Took part in Enduring Freedom

2005-present US Navy Reserves doing the same job Currently Aviation Warfare Operator 1st Class

Dad: US Navy Vietnam (cant remember the years) He was a scope dope on the USS Hancock....Electronics Warefare Tech 2nd class....he was supposed to put on 1st the day after his enlistment was up

Gramps: Army Air Corp neither me nore my pop know what he did there but he served in the Phillipenes (SP) and Japan in WWII...other than a few cryptic photos by some planes no one has ever seen thats all we have on info....he never did talk about it.

Never met my gramps...but listening to the stories, both him and my dad are larger than life heroes in my eyes.

USAF/ANG '61-'65 enlisted and '65-95 flew single engine/single seat fighters. retired in '99 Great memories, great people.

 

I'd just like to jump back in here to say, this so far, has been everything I was hoping it would turn out to be.
You can talk about your car clubs and how deep they are, but this here is what's known as a BROTHERHOOD IN ARMS, and apparent by these threads.
Oh yeah, and we all just happen to flow heavily toward all things hot rodding.

Take time Wednesday Nov. 11 to be honored by family and freinds, and for the most part, a greatful country.

Again a huge salute of honor to all.

Never served, but my dad was Army late 60's early 70's. I want to personally thank every single one of you guys from every branch of military and in every war or during peace time! Without you we wouldn't be enjoying this hobby we love. Thanks again!!

My brother, 2 brothers-in-law and 2 cousins are Marines.
My grandfather was in WWII and my ole man was in Vietnam.

My ole heaps have been boxed up and stored too many times to remember. Its a little like christmas when I come home and unpack em though!

I was at K-Town in part of '71 & 72 Ramstien was like going uptown, one of our guys had a little VW powered Fiat, pretty cool back then...
Used to make a stop on the way home at a three story "apt." building

 

My Dad was in the Army Air Corp in WWII and my Grandfather served in the Army in WWI. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SERVICE. I am very grateful to you. Slim

 

Marines Corps 94-98
When i singed up for the Corps they asked me what my interest were. I had just spent most of my high school time building a 61 Chevy truck. The Marines made me an auto body repairman, a whole lot of rust repair and patch panels were made the next four years, then the current administration said that my job was no longer needed and when it was time for me to move on i stuck with the restoration and hot rod world. if it wasn't for the Corps experience who knows where i would have ended up.

Army 1966 to 1970. Stationed at Hakata Japan,Ft.Devens Mass.(New England Dragway) and Bangkok Thailand. Refrigeration and air conditioning specialist. Thanks to all who sacrificed for our freedom to do what we do every day.

Grandpa (dads side) was engineman on landing crafts in european theatre WW2.
Grandpa (moms side) lifer USMC forced to retire 32 years. Still has problem talking to me cause I didn't go USMC. He will get over it eventually.

My dad was a Huey UH-1 helicopter pilot in the Army 2 tours in Vietnam... shot down 5 times.... died at home in 1981 from lung cancer, from spraying Agent Orange. MMiss you and love you Dad.
I was in the Air Force from 1988 till 96 and National Guard for 4 years. Was in Saudi for 6 months for Desert Storm....
My Dad was a huge influence on me even though he died when I was 13 years old.
