Technical Rolled fenders??

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Gas Stove-bolt, Oct 1, 2013.

  1. I did a search and did not find it. I thought I saw a thread on rolling fenders. It might have been a sub-part of another thread maybe some ones build. If you know of it or posted it, please let me know. A friend is building a 51 chevy and would like a little guidance.

    Thanks
    Mick

Old school way..... put a baseball bat between the tire and quarter panel at the front of the tire and have a friend SLOWLY back the car up until the bat comes out.

    Repeat as needed.

    Take asprin as required.

That will roll the inner lip inwards real nice.

I am sure there are better ways, but this site is all about old school, so there ya go !!

I have used the base ball bat quite a few times. Only recommendation is to go slow, a little bit of roll each time. May take 5-10 rolls back and forth. Mine have always been after the car was final painted. A little bit of heat with a heat gun to soften the paint and prevent it from cracking.
