  1. Spastic chimp on meth. Its yours buddy, I got no copy write or trade mark. :D

We are going after steelies for the rear tomorrow. I may need to adjust the back space, we'll scope it out next week. Then we'll know by golly. ;)

  3. Just a tease. We got rolling stock for all 4 corners now. We are gonna have to relieve the rear fenders a little bit for the big meats to fit. LOL
@Austin kays is coming by tomorrow (Tuesday) to assist in the trimming. And generally just to play cars for a day. :D

The headlights are not yet installed and I may need to find some proper headlight rings. Never the less @Tim wanted to see it with lights. The old heap should set about like this, maybe a little different. ;)

Anyway hopefully by the end of the week we'll be rolling. So today is just a tease. :p:D

  7. Beano my friend how did I miss this?

The 40 Chebby will make you and Eddy a perfect hot rod and if you can get the car running like the old Chevy pickup you can really have some fun.

Congratulations on your new project! HRP

I could be wrong but I think this has also been sectioned. This would account for the larger wheel opening

  10. I would have to walk outside in the daylight and look at mine but I think channeled and the fenders left @ original height. That is actually a very old custom trick. Kind of a crouching tiger look. ;)

  12. well we got rollers om all 4 corners. I am gonna have to relieve the rears a little bit more before it hits the road but they are on and it rolls.

The Ansens were a little off center so we decided to go with Steel Smoothies on all 4 corners.

@Austin kays could not leave it without mocking up the running boards. Gonna have to build some mounts, the originals are gone (rusted away).

    This is my favorite angle.

  19. Its actually about a 50 footer. But it can be on the road and getting cleaned up in time. Almost no rust to deal with.

Got that midnight street brawler look! Just needs to be painted a dark green, blue or maroon that looks black at night. That’s what the old whiskey runners did so their cars looked different at night and in the daytime so nobody knew who they were.

  21. I actually have some black catalyzed epoxy primer that we plan on hitting it with when the time comes. I may try and find some red pearl to mix in it. Not sure how well it will work. ;)

Actually I have most of a set of nice tail lights for it. Only two things a healthy streeter needs, to sound good and have nice taillights. :p:D:D

Nice trailer tail lights… if the inner cups are still there a 40 set of glass and doors should not be too hard to find. IMG_3958.jpeg

  24. new old fenders. Mrs Beaners found these. Won't have time to mess with them for a minute. The fronts may still need to be clearanced a little bit not not nearly as drastic as the others. Maybe they won't need clearanceing at all.

    the rears are just spares

Congrats Beaner...was it a roundy rounder at some point? That might explain the bigass wheelwells...or perhaps it was just modern hot wheels to blame...I just finished going through the posts......old news...:D

    0_20230831_174624.jpg

A friend of mine had a jailbar truck with 1 ton front fenders and they had huge wells...I can't show a better profile...wheels are OT

Glad you got replacements...look forward to your application of make Beaner happy...;)

Hey ya know if we wait til it’s cold to swap fenders I bet we can just tighten the nuts a half turn and they’ll all snap. I’ll bring a can of kroil, a pocket of bolts and a breaker bar with a socket on the end.

  29. The ‘40 Chevy is coming along nicely! I’m in the same position with a stalled project that I picked up. (‘40 Olds) Mine has a 350/th350 with a 12 bolt rear all plumbed up. Supposedly it “yard drove”. Evidently the original builder stripped it for paint and, primed it and there it stopped. Fortunately, all the stainless and chrome trim came with it and is in good condition. Needs a new exhaust system and brakes, then should be a driver…
