It doesn't get cold all that often here in Central Texas, but it's cold as hell right now. In fact, it's 26-degrees as I type this from my trusty iPhone. And I'm typing this from my phone because the weather has freaked out the power company. So much... <BR><BR>To read the rest of this blog entry from The Jalopy Journal, click here.
I guess all the heaters are overloading the system? You think AC in the summer would be more of a draw? Hell I dont know , good thing I dont work for the power company... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=38270&highlight=who+owns+this+49+chevy

It sure would be nice to have 40s/50s/60s (I know) period stuff in their own archive, so they wouldn't be so hard to find. It would be great research material. Larry T
I agree with above mentioned concerning threads on 40's and 50's hot rods. I would also add these two on hot rod's of the dry lakes as a must see.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=317717 http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=234436
We're supposed to have a high of around 60 on Sat/Sunday (Friday is supposed to still be a little chilly) up here by the Red River. Shouldn't be to bad of swap meet weather for this time of year. Larry T BTW, I'm on the computer because my air hose for my air tools just froze up back in the shop.
It's a crazy snow then ice then snow storm here in Cleveland. It was 40 degrees last night and going to be in the teens tomorrow. Here is one of my favorite threads of all time. Click on either. POST Your Definition of "Hot Rod" Pic http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=450500

Nobody worry about a thing..........the power companies here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area have announced the Rolling Power Outages WILL NOT effect any of the Super Bowl proceedings going on this week. While all the rest of us around here get to freeze our asses off, "poor ol' Jerry Jones" has all the power he wants to make himself look like a big shot. It's a shame his own football team can't do good things for him like the power company can.
Ryan - You forgot about KC ice storm of '02? If you could post through that, anything else has to be easy.
The first time we here in Texas have had to put up with the rolling blackouts , what a pain ! I guess the electric company will have another excuse to raise rates again , do I sound pissed ? , don't mean to,,,,,,,Sam
Crap, it's only about forty in Phoenix right now!!! Doesn't sound too cold to most of you, But I don't have much of a problem with 120, either!
It was peaked at 14 overnight over here. Lost power this morning for a little while, but it kicked back on. That hour without heat wasn't cool, so I put the propane shop heater in the house for a bit. It's steady at 28 right now, don't think it's supposed to get over 30 today out here.
Damn, that Flattie is purrin' like a Kitty this mornin'! Just picked up a '49 Ford Flattie from ChopRod
Really pissed me off that I only got a half cup of Joe before my power went off this morning. That first bit out of the coffee maker is kind of bitter. Oh well, at least the pools not frozen.
It's 7 degrees right now in El Paso- The Sun City. All eight of El Paso Electric's generators froze and we are now experiencing rolling blackouts. Luckily we are getting power from the Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant in Az. El Paso Electric also announced earlier in the week that they are going to impose a rate hike without a regulatory board's permission, go figure.
