Congrats @Moriarity the Tangerine Dream is quite the Looker and looks like the builder was like minded...it's pretty clean inside and out, wow...

The worn arm, hard metal versus soft...perhaps some grease or lube may minimise that...it happens to fasteners as well...could you harden that by heating and quenching in oil?

Not really sure if it would make a difference...maybe...

I hope this hasn't been asked yet but how is the boot secured for driving? Snaps, tie downs or is it snug enough to stay put?

I never noticed all of the can lights before. Looks like a car show.

when I told the builder how many can lights I wanted ( i think there are 75 including upstairs) there he said "man are the drywall guys going to hate you". One thing that is true is that even nice cars can look shitty under fluorescent , but all cars look warm and nice under incandescent lighting

Yes BUT if you can make a car look good under florescent or LED bulbs they look amazing outside or under incandescent lighting. Most of my home is can lit but some of them are 25 feet up and burning out after 15 years. I need to rent one of those lift things and replace them all.

Maybe we should add that to the "garage or shop" thread, if it has can lights it's a garage!

  18. This car just speaks to me, as much as I appreciate your other two, in my mind they come nowhere close to this car. I would absolutely love to own this car!

Awesome write up for the car! Canted quads on all 3, under one roof yet. Love your screen name - ''Futurian''

  28. Very cool write up! I am glad to see this car getting back out in the world, such a neat car that was hidden away for far too long.

  29. Hmm that is interesting to see that it was still painted blue as of 65. So sometime between that show and then when it was photographed for the Popular Custom's magazine in 66, it was painted the emerald green.

Also I think that photo adds to why every old timers memory around here confuses Hing's car and Taboo. They were almost (if not) the same shade of blue.

actually the color on that photo is real bad or faded. the car is green there, if you look close at the lower right of the hood you can see it
