Glad to hear Ron is coming along good!---Thanks for the updates! I have known Ron since he became an LAR Associate member in the 70's & always looked forward to talking with him at Fathers Day show whenever he made the drive over from AZ.,----Neat guy! Maybe you can talk him into becoming a "HAMBER" now. Best wishes Ron for a speedy recovery,-----Don Thomas, LAR Honorary member.
Good to hear he is improving rapidly!! Hell, he will be ready for AZ Deuce Day the way he is going!! Just got back from Oregon where I was attending the Celebration of Life for my Mom and younger bro Bob. Mom passed on the 8th and Bob 8 days later so am behind in my followings of the HAMB folks but catching up!! Will see Ron soon!!
Well, I was going to update how The incredible miss Judy and myself went to see Ron last night at the hospital... But, I have even better news - He's home! I got a call from Jan this morning as I came in from the So-Cal second Saturday deal that he would get out today and could I help with getting him upstairs and situated? Hell yes! The call came about 12:15 or so, and other than his slightly over exerting himself going up the stairs, he's doing great! So, now the real healing can begin! I know Ron well enough to know that the hardest part of recuperation will be keeping him still long enough to heal! I also want to say a personal thanks to everyone that came up to me at So-Cal this morning. I passed your well wishes along this after noon to Ron. I can only hope that when I hit that age I have half the friends concerned about my well being as he has had this last couple of weeks. All I can say is thanks!
Ron and I go way back to the early 70's..lot's of swap meet time together. Give him my best. Bill Van Dyke
Glad he is doing better. I called about a week ago and had no idea he was in the hospital. I just read this thread today. Now I know why he has not called back! Glad he is on the road again. Now I can bother him some more.
Hey gang - Well I didn't want to revive this thread again as Ron had been at home for a week or so, but I have to. He bounced back into a different hospital again yesterday afternoon. This should be a short stay, hopefully he will be back out tomorrow, but it seems to be due to a mix up with doctors prescriptions fighting each other. He and Jan send their thanks and love to all that have sent cards and made calls in the last couple of weeks, and I can vouch that is an incredible number! Let's put it this way- I took Jan home from the hospital this afternoon, and we found the new Rodders Journal in the mail box when we got her home. I told her that he shouldn't be without that, so I would take it back up to him. She said, "you might as well take up yesterday's and today's get well cards too", and the pile was just as big as the TRJ! Jan is trying hard to get all the cards and calls answered, but apologizes that she is falling short. Once again, for the next week or so, instead of calling Jan, if you guys could call me for updates and such, I know that they would appreciate much. I will keep in contact with them as much as possible to keep up with his condition and report as asked. Even more so now after this setback it's going to be important for Ron to get some rest and feel better. Thanks gang, Chip Quinn
