I searched and didn't see a post on this. It's a beautiful collection of early Fords. Link below.
The Ron Thorne Collection - Worldwide Auctioneers

I think some of them sold pretty reasonable. They have not posted sales results yet, but you can watch the auction here via the youtube link:

My question is some were advertised as having a "non-conforming" VIN and you may not be able to title it in every state. What does that mean?

    Thanks,
    Vinnie

Wow! What an incredible collection of Early Ford products. Brave soul to offer them up with no reserve, although the apparent quality would likely bring top dollar for each one.

I can only imagine that some may have some quirky title issues like salvage titles or bill of sale only if they came from non-title states. Clarification on that would be interesting. Thanks for posting these incredible automobiles.

Thanks, some Real beauties in that collection! Seems to be a ‘37 lover, too.

  5. Those are some nice cars, nicely detailed and professionally photographed. Would be interested in what sort of prices they did bring. Thanks for sharing.

    • Many designated non-conforming vehicles have VINs that do not conform to North American VIN standards. These vehicles may have a VIN with fewer than 17 characters.

A Non-Conforming Status may be applied to gray market vehicles, kit cars and hot rods. In some cases, the rules provide alternatives for testing these vehicles. Non-Conforming vehicles receive targeted tests at the discretion of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD). These vehicles may receive a TwoSpeed Idle (TSI) or Acceleration Simulation Mode (ASM) test depending on the design/and or model year of the vehicle.

    Forgive my ignorance.
Exactly what is this space and how and why was this accessed on this Vicky?
    Beautiful collection.

The video in the second link provided is the entire auction. You can see the hammer price there.

Good question. It must be an additional fabric cover for the trunk.

WOW, combined, all 17 of the nicest V8 Fords in the country for about 1/3 the cost of a certain Mercury.
A couple of real bargains in the lot too...maybe a much better "real world" market indicator than fucking Mecum & B-J:mad:
