Sorry to hear that!. He's known as a Mopar man but the 65? Mercury Comet he drove was the most impressive car I remember from the day.
Sad New's. Sorry to hear this. We seem to be loosing many men who built the foundation of what we all love. It's a shame. R.I.P. Tony
Sad to hear. A real innovator in the making of a cl*** of drag racing, that never exisited before. I never knew him personally, but my memories of him,and the Sox, and Martin team will stay with me. My condolences to the family. R.I.P. Ronny...
My dad pitted beside those guys a couple times. He wont like this sad news. Reading about them as a kid is one of my earliest memories.
Sorry to hear that..............another great that has gone to join that Allstar Racing Team in Heaven!! God Speed Ronny!!
I'm sorry to hear that too. He gave everyone fits with those mopars back in the 60's, Sox and Martin wasn't it. One bad *** Baracuda with a hemi. RIP
My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I am grateful he is no longer in pain. RIP dear Ronnie. Your legacy will live on.
Watched him row a 4 speed many times at regional and national events. there were very few that could match him. Sox and Martin were the team to beat when Mopar ruled the 1/4 mile. Anyone remember the Dodge Colt he match raced for awhile? That short wheelbase terror was a handful, but he managed to make it look easy. RIP Mr. Sox Frank
too bad. he was my hero when i was a youngster. i never got to meet him, but i checked my hot rod magazine every month to see what sox and martin were up to. he is probably the root cause of my love of mopar engines.
That's really sad news. He's one of my heroes. Hope his legend will live on forever. I replaced the clock in my musclecar with a transparency with Ronnie Sox's picture on it. Have a light wired up to an RPM activated switch so that when Ronnie lights up I know its time to shift. I'm gonna treaure that even more now.
Man, sorry to hear that. I seen him at Chrysler's at Carlisle a couple years ago even had him sign a pic that was part of the Year One catalog that year. later shawn
So sorry to hear that. He was one of the greats of the sport and will be missed. My thoughts go out to his family.
Sad...it was prob 1971 that Sox & Martin were here doing a performance clinic at the local dealer...nice guy and a heck of a driver... Bill
