Any body know where to stay at for the Detroit Autorama? Extra rooms? Do you think we're too late? Clark
umm try these http://travel.yahoo.com/p-hotel-371848-courtyard_by_marriott_detroit_downtown-i http://travel.yahoo.com/p-hotel-2288520-hilton_garden_inn_downtown-i http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/DTWDC if not i got an xtra room at the house. and there is a bunch more hotels out side of detroit.
I made reservations 1-7 for thursday, friday and saturday. They only had doubles and the cost is 139..00 per day. Does anyone know the gun laws in detroit? Do the guns have to be 40 s/w or bigger?ha jim
...............plus Windsor strip clubs let the girls take it "all off"............ if your looking for some local Canadian tourist stuff to do.......
If you stay at any of the Downtown hotels don't forget to add $15.00 - $20.00 per day for parking your daily driver. Parking on top of Cobo Hall (roof parking) is only $4 per day. They do not allow you to leave you car overnite. The only place I can recommend that hasn't already been mentioned would be the Comfort Inn on Buckingham in Livonia 734-458-7111. It's right on Middlebelt at the I96 freeway. Approx a 12 mile straight shot down the freeway to the Cobo Hall roof parking. Also there is a Bob Evans and an IHop resturant right at the same corner, and a mom and pop type greesey spoon less then one mile away that we eat weekend breakfasts at.
We ( the NJ group) just got our rooms at the Marriot, just 2 blocks from the show. 99 a night. Nice breakfast buffet as well! The bar is well stocked, too!
Good spot to stay............I think I remember stumbling there after one of Denise's parties..........
whos driving out from the jersey area??? BTW i have 2 rooms (one for dad and 1 for me and girl(s)) at the pohahatitiatiantiantiansitonas hotel ........

I would also like to throw out the suggestion of staying in windsor. There are many hotels not far from the bridge or there is also the Casino. Im right outside of windsor by the way.
Probably more like a 99.999% chance you won't get murdered.... Detroit's fine as long as you don't stray more than 2 blocks from Cobo..
Denise, Is that the place out by your house? That's where we stayed last year. Cheaper than downtown and a lot less gunfire I think the Nightmares will be there this year.
Yes Rich, thats the place right on the corner by my house. Lots of HAMB guys have safely stayed there thru the years.
For real murder experience, ya gotta come up tp Flint. A sure thing is a trip to Saginaw. They already have about 8 for the year!
I got one room here in Jackson 1 single bed 1200.00 a nite and no pool But I got a shitter. Shit ill even drive you to hobo hall and back every day Dave
What about trailer parking and the tow vehicle? My 32 is getting delivered to it's new owner that weekend. Clark
They have us park down the road in a fenced in area, was not too bad last year. They are suposed to have a shuttle bringing you back to Cobo, but ened up walking back last year....Littleman
Boones, my offer from last year still goes. You are more then welcome to stay the night at the house on Saturday and I can run you to the airport Sunday morning. Clark, are you going to be delivering the '32 on Sunday evening after the show closes at 8pm? Tom lives real close to me. If you guys want to crash on Sunday nite here you are more then welcome as well. There is plenty of parking for your tow vehicle and trailer and my neighborhood is very safe.
Denise...I guess the car will be his at the show too. I already consider it his. I'm hoping he gets to take it for a spin before the setup. Thanks for the offer but we'll be heading home Sunday night. If we can park the truck and trailer in that lot I guess we'll have to find a hotel close by. Clark
Its like a public parking area for all the down town workers, it was fairly secure, it was better than I had expected, and their was a police post fairly close by also...If that what they do with us this year, they may have a different place this year......................I will be arriving on Wensday and am willing to help anyone out that needs help unloading or what ever, and explaining where to go, since I will have all ready done it...Littleman
The Holiday INN express is where I will be along with Curator and many others. only a couple blocks away...the # is313 887-7000
Roadstar..... Not sure who's car is gonna be on the trailer. If the weather's good We may just drive up. That will be a long sad ride knowing it's the last one. Littleman..I think we're gonna call the Holiday. Clark
The one thing that nobody realizes about Detroit is that there just ain't anybody around. If there's nobody around, nobody's gonna mug you or kill you or laugh at your silly haircut. Sure there'll be a bunch of people around when you go to Autorama, but they'll just be a bunch of harmless attendees like yourselves. Of course you should fear the ricers and the NASCAR fans. But that goes for anywhere.
What are some decent places to stay in Windsor? How close are they to Cobo? The friend I'm supposed to go with stayed right by Cobo last year. But said he would like to stay in Windsor this time if poss.
