Wondering if any HAMBers have seen photos-sketches of the ch***is Roth built for the Beatnik Bandit. I have some Roth literature but nothing with a clear shot or description/specs. Any recomendations for a source will be greatly appreciated especially if it enables me to spend my dollars on a historically accurate read. John
That's funny, cause I just saw all the ORIGINAL sketches and pic's of the build, about two weeks ago, while I was visiting with Darryl Roth. I agree with ronnieroadster...the models were all made from actual parts, scaled down. I've known of a few guys who have built clones using scaled UP dimensions from the models.
I think the Olds frame, circa'49-50, was pretty stock except for drastic shortening and a staggering amount of Chrome.
Definitely was Olds frame shortened, I spent a lonely night guarding the Bandit in a car show I put on in 1961 and I crawled under and all around that thing inspecting it. Olds engine running on alcohol so the fumes wouldn't gas everybody out.
