I am getting ready to lay into my 50 Merc and have been looking for an auto rotisserie to make the job easier. I found one this week and bought it today. Here's a few pics with the PO's car one it...if anyone is looking to build one I'd be happy to take measurements...
money well spent there, I did that to my (O/T)67 Mustang, and man, it helped out SO much, especially for things like welding in subframe connectors, floors, media blasting underneath. Saves your back bigtime!
Count me in also. In fact, if you can make some decent sketches I'd be willing to pay a couple of bucks for them. Please let me know. Gary
My wife is a drafter, I'll see what it takes to talk her into doing a little CAD work. If that don't pan out then it will be CharlieLed and Visio. It's always interesting to see other designs, especially those that fit one specific model car. Fabricating the mounts for the body seems to be the most tedious part of the build so if you are only working with one body style then that's a job you only have to do once. Here's a pic of the rotisserie next to the 56 F100 cab that I am currently working on...the rotisserie is a little to big for just this cab but I am sure that it will work fine once I get the cab mounts fabricated...
Another set of plans, quite a bit of adjustment option on this one. I had a 55 Chevy wagon on it, got it perfectly balanced where it would stay where ever you rotated it to. ....Or the complete album: http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y167/rmccartney/Rotisserie Fabrication/
looks like two engine stands with a long square tubing tieing them together to me. My measuring would be done in the " I dont need it anymore section of the want ads. Course if you saw what I'm working on then you know mine looks grass and dirt.
