I just found out yesterday that both the route 66 fun run in Arizona from seligman to Kingman to Golden shores/ topock and the Laughlin River run is this coming weekend. I myself am not going to pay to enter but I will be around riding my bicycle in downtown Kingman Saturday afternoon when the cars come rolling into Kingman and I also will be cruising around in my 41 Cadillac. And also the River run Laughlin is this coming weekend. so both events at the same time. I don't like when they schedule both on the same weekend. It should be one and then the other the next weekend. but it is what it is.
I'm going to try and discipline myself and take some photos to post. I believe the main event being held tonight is in seligman and then tomorrow morning they will be making their way to downtown Kingman to set up the car show in the afternoon. And then Sunday morning they will continue on old old 66 through oatman and on to Golden shores and topock.
Well... As a good boy, I took over 140 snapshots. A good turnout, a beautiful day on route 66 in Kingman, Arizona. (Please have patience with me as I have a brand new phone and it's so different than my old phone.)
I see that Google is highlighting Route 66 today on their opening page. And they have put together a video montage.
We have a burger place here called "Burger Town USA". It's a patriotic place with a Rt. 66 vibe and decor. It even has an H.O. scale train that runs along the ceiling of the place.
Thank you for the contributions!!! I got more photos to try and upload of the route 66 fun run today in Kingman Arizona.
2025........... Route 66 Fun Run 2025 starts in Seligman on Friday May 2nd and then arrives in Kingman May 3rd in the mid- to late afternoon and on Sunday morning leaves for Topock Arizona by Golden Shores via old old 66 going through Oatman! that particular stretch has the reputation of being the most difficult and dangerous portion of the entire Route 66 drive.
and it's free to attend as a spectator! hundreds of cars will be there and no problem driving up and down Route 66 during their drive between the cities!
