I still look for Roy's art.. interestingly ....I have had this very old disposable dead lighter with his art wrapped on it for ever(I never throw anything away..bad habit)
I simply love that mans talent.. and only have old Drake calendars .........and one Litho.

Roy Jones friends and fans, I received an e-mail this morning from a gentleman who has a set of Roy's "Famous Ford Owners" prints. If anyone is interested, message me or post, and I'll get you in touch.

Season's greetings to all Roy Jones fans. This time of year often brings old friends to mind, and once again, Roy's picture under my desk glass reminds me of our friendship. I would often visit Roy on Christmas eve, or day, in his apartment. I would often be alone for X-mas, and at the time, he was not much in touch with his family back east. He spent the holidays working, but also enjoying the company of those in his building, or around The Valley, who would stop in. As usual, we'd sit for hours talking cars and looking at old publications and new, as well as discussing artwork he was working on at the time. As I grow older, and have long since passed the very early age at which Roy was taken from us, I'm more conscious of how special certain acquantances are. Roy will always be unforgetable in so many ways. I continue my few-times-a-year search on the web for him, and am so happy to see more posts and articles, and interest in his work. I've always believed in that old adage, that as long as one person remembers, the individual is not truly gone. Perhaps more people know about Roy these days than when he was alive. If so, that's a wonderful thing.

dave at wagonmeister dot com finds me, if anyone wishes to exchange remembrances. Wishing everyone a pleasant holiday season, again, and a prosperous and happy 2024.
