  4. That's my boy Justin in the 27, he threw this car together for F.A.S.T. back in May and has about got it dialed in now. Pretty good performer for what it is. The engine is just an old A block that we cleaned up and bolted back together with nothing more than a reground cam and a swap meet Winfield head from Tyler Weeks. The head has been surfaced so much before we got it the compression must be close to 9:1. Runs strong though.

That's Tyler who we got the head from, he runs the hell out of that car, not sure how many times he went around but he likes to rack up passes and wears it like a badge of honor. He gets in such a hurry he almost ran me over while I was standing next to my car in staging. lol All good.

OK, back to some stationary shots. Some more cars in the show I missed earlier, and some from the pits.

The # 69 , 27 Roadster is out of the Seattle area, I believe. It's perhaps the most traveled race car today, he had it at the Toutle Drags, in August, great car!

That's Jerry Chinn's car and you're right he takes it everywhere. He just got back from the Race of Gentlemen.

Thanks for the pics. That was my first time there. It was a choice between Bakersfield, been there a few times, and the Nationals and I'm happy I went with the Nationals. Great event.

  14. Marty, the roadster was raced in the SLC, Ogden, Utah area for many years and had everything from a Flathead, Ardun and a Jimmy 6 powering it. Great to see it still being enjoyed.
Here is a pic of it at the old SLC track with the Ardun.

  16. That's Mike Moore of Oregon, He built the quick change that I am running in my T. He also is running one and the #11 32 that kicked my a** was also sporting a Mike Moore QC serial #1. He is a true craftsman and a wiley racer, he got the jump on me and was a tough one to catch.

No audio? Maybe it's my computer. Kris must've been in the red sedan that I followed into the event, I was parked just behind and to the right of him. There are some pics of his sedan in the first set of photos.

Thanks Mick, and Jimmy B, for the info on the car, quite the history. It looked too real to be recent built car.

Audio works for me on PC.

  24. Looking at these reminds me of Australia HAMB. Killer cars, really good koverage, thanks.

p.s; I'm waiting for the vintage Indian blow-back lol. That thing is sweet.

So I'm not done posting pictures here. I posted 1 or 2 snapshots of this one earlier, taken with my backup camera. I went back for more with the good camera, and caught the owner nearby and spoke with him. I believe this is the Haruo Morishige Roadster, though it's changed some over the years, the running boards have been added back on, and the tail lights are different, but I'm pretty convinced it's the same car. How about some more action shots?

This was some kind of exhibition run, I'm not sure what it was about, but the announcer introduced the guys in the black car as the Canadian guys, they came all the way from Canada to participate, and the yellow car is? I'm not sure. But the Canadians whipped us anyway, wasn't close. DSC_2351.JPG DSC_2352.JPG DSC_2353.JPG
    Nice tow vehicle, eh?

    This one's not bad either...

Our buddy @mctim64 back at it, winning another round...

OK, let's finish this up. This is the last batch of action shots:
    DSC_2394.JPG DSC_2395.JPG
This photo may be my favorite of the entire thread. It just seems to catch all of the great elements of the event, the cool cars, the racers themselves, the beautiful location; a cool hot rod in action, not sitting parked somewhere. Knowing now about the driver, thanks to @mctim64, that he custom builds quick change rear ends one at a time, that only makes this better.

This guy ran strong all day long. One of those old timers that just had it all together and made it look easy.
