That’s beautiful stuff right there. No one towing a car cross country can understand what this feels like.

 

Looks like a pretty cool adventure, keep us posted. Nice to have friends to stay with, but at twenty bucks a night you won’t have to sleep in your car.

It is sad...I remember stopping and eating at the Ranch House ...but the bypassing of it by the interstate did it in...

this is before Holbrook AZ... You can see some of the painted desert kind of dried mud mounds

 

stopped at a buddy's to check in on him...he has quite a few Chevrolet tri fives that he has had since the early 70's....plus he is just a great guy

 

Flagstaff in the distance thru Flag and on to Ashfork

 

this K model International was at a flagstone operation in Ashfork...I had pulled over as it sounded like my water pump or alternator bearings were failing... terrible sound coming and going....hood up but couldn't locate it....shut the engine off...it was still making it...the cicadas in the trees...gonna make tracks now...but I'll be back

 

next stop was Seligman for a burger at Snow Cap Cafe...and a strawberry malt.... new and used parts

 

Let's see if I have sorted out phone and loading replies problems...
I am at the destination safety but it 's been a trip in a 93 year old car with a 73 yo operator....
Left Siligman AZ....on old US66 to Kingman... a passing big rig and a wind from about 10:00 whipped the top violently and it tore...so top down and the end of the driving day with a stay at mm 115 hotel....it was almost totally vacant.... unusual for this time of year
The floods in the Grand Canyon made folks cancel their reservation...my gain and a quiet place to work on the top

 

giys...my data plan has my phone throttled and it is taking over 90 seconds to load an image...I need to do a repair on the head of the engine...so I am going to delay my blog vor now....The RPM event is crazy cool....dinner last night...I went to leave to go to my hotel and no headlights...I needed to do a 8 mile drive on the 101...after dark....well sorted it out eventually...a headlight socket had shorted to ground I guess while I was running with headlights on in a "safely zone" yesterday.
It burned wiring...long and short...late night getting back on the road to the Hotel ...I will be back

 

Here is my thoughts..
I will wait to post any more until I return home and load all the photos to my desktop...
I will take lots of photos...and I already have...

 

Anxious to see more snap shots, quite a journey in the confines of a 'A' model, would love to follow suit someday but would need the convenience of cruise control, my 80 plus years have wreaked havoc on my legs on distant drives.

 

Great pics so far, always appreciate your road trip pictures and reports.

I recognize a lot of that landscape and sights. When I moved form CA to NM, I drove that same route (minus the old Rt 66 portions) several times.

I believe looking down the Hualapai valley...I met a Havasupai fellow that said " Walapai, Hualapai, Peach pie or Apple pie" letting me know how to pronounce the names...they end in pie..

 

I just love the old cafe sign pointing to the entrance....

 

Thanks for taking us all along on another road trip. Great experience in spite of the mechanical issues you had, sounds like they were thankfully minor. Looking forward to more pics if you got 'em!

A great trip all in all....the problems were minor but distracting....more to come as I pick up where I left off....
