AWESOME!! Glad to hear that you won, I am very happy for you. That rpu is definitely one of the best giveaway cars in several years. wish i could have been at the Nats in person. That rpu is a nice looking rod and will make many people wis it was theirs.

    HAMB RAFFLE TIME!
Congrats, I feel happy that you've won, and I dont even know you! [IMG] Good to see it has gone to somebody who will enjoy it, I find it disapointing when I see raffle cars go up for sale, especially if they are not in desperate need of $$$.
    Congrats again! [IMG]

Congrats the best giveaway yet. Please drive the **** out of it. As for the problems its a new ride you have to work the bugs out. All new rides have some.

Thank you everyone! How great it is to have such good friends here on the Hamb!
Yes... she's running very well now. I am ashamed to say what we found with the detonation and very poor idle.
The front carb linkage wasn't adjusted correctly and the big item...the positive cable at the battery under the seat was just laying on top of the post. Tightened the cable and everything fell right together. We we couldn't get much spark out of the coil thinking it was the distributor and here something stupid like that caused the problem.
350 hp in this 1900 lb car. You wouldn't believe the power!

I was feeling kind of low that I didn't get to go. It worked out for you though as I was going to win that thing. You can repay me by letting me use it for a couple of years.

I would love to let everyone drive it! In fact I have only driven it 20 miles and everyone else has been driving it. [IMG]

nice luck you have if it was me i would have been off by 1 number

The guy I traveled down with was in fact off by that very number. He has been helping me all the way getting it on the road but never lets me forget he should have had it. [IMG]

Well I must admit that engine does have alittle aluminum on it. Just a very lucky hamber [IMG]

That was me that went buzzing by you on 71 (that's route 71 - I was doing 80 and I have proof thanks to a nice but curt Ohio statey) and gave you the congratulatory auoooogah! Hope you had the driveshaft out towing it like you were:)

We had to drive take coupe home and a great friend hauled that thing for me. He said he couldn't stop anywhere along the way...
it was like flies on ****.

I agree.... now if I won one of those plastic cars they have lined up for next year. I would sell it immediately.
Could you imagine how many rods you could build with that kind of money.

Yes....as cool as it is... I wonder just how long the atraction will last. I have never driven anything I haven't done myself. I guess its a pride thing....
More than likely I'll have to tear the engine out and sell it. Could build a real nice flathead for that kind of money. [IMG]
Thanks again everyone and thank you for not harr***ing me too much.

Congratulations on winning the RPU. That is my favorite car of all of them that have been given away. I hate to see anyone sell a car that they have won, although some of them I would not want to keep without changing some things. I have been in your position, I won the '64 GTO that they gave away at the Hot Rod Magazine Nationals in '85. I am glad to say that I still have it and without any changes either. It still bothers me though to drive a car that someone else built. There have been a time or two that I have thought about selling it to get some more room, but if I sold it I would probably never get that car back again.

Congrats. That is cool that HAMBer won somethign of substantial worth, and not some overly rich guy that would not appreicate it as much.

    Thank you Dirk !
I haven't come down from the clouds yet. The cool part of this that everyone is truely excited about it. I'm sure I would have been envious if someone I knew won. As you can see from my 50 pickup for sale in the cl***ifieds.
I wish I did have the money to keep them all. Regardless....
the true fun of this hobby is the people... and building them.... Not driving them or owning them. I really wander how long it will be before someone comes along to offer enough for me to start another project and...bye bye RPU.
I've done all my own cars...... I wonder if the interest will wane in time.

DAMN that is awesome! [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

I have been without a computer for a couple of days, and just came across the post. That is cool as hell, congrats!

You are the second guy that I know who won a vehicle this year, A local cruise regular won a 32 roadster at the Soaring Eagle Casino car show. But that RPU is by far a cooler ride. Enjoy!! -Joe
