I'm surprised. The rest of it looks actually pretty good. I can see why you bought it. Just toss out the **** and fix it right and you will have a nice little rod there.

I'm with Don. You can still pull out a win with it. I'd start with a turd wrapped in aluminum foil if I could work on it with my grandpa.

Welding would have turned out better if you would have ground off the galvanizing off first. Oh well!

This is my favorite part of the build............very ingenious ! Why cut off those old spring perches when you can simply bolt the new ones right on them ? The bolt hole is even slotted for fine tuning.

Rat rodding at its finest. Looks like they started with a nice original RPU and proceeded to use every cheap ****ty shortcut in the book. And made up a few of their own.

Your 4 bar picture is the HAMB version of those "as seen at WalMart" photos that get p***ed around the WWW.

I had a 56 Chevy with a roll bar made from plumbing parts. there was a business in town at the time called "4 Star Plumbing" so my funny friends started referring to it as my "roll bar by 4 Star"

I think the guy that put my Lincoln together and yours are the same person, or brothers at least!
I had to go through and correct a bunch of junk like that, transmission pan sitting on on the wishbone, rear end too narrow and no shocks, rear spring shackles put together with 3/8" hardware store carriage bolts, rear wheels with torch cut bolt holes for the four lug rear cut between the 5 on 5.5 pattern. Like was said, get rid of the junk, and you will have a nice ride!

I remember guys covering their **** welds with bondo to get it through "inspection" at the local 1/2 mile dirt track. all you young pups may think it unsafe, but back then REAL Men PUT SAFETY last! (AND SOME PAID WITH THEIR LIFE) SADLY

You could actually stick a small nail through the gaps and holes in his welds lol

  26. I read a post on a different thread today how cars owned by automotive enthusiasts are probably better maintained than the average Joes car! Sometimes yes, sometimes NO. This one looks like it was built by a couple of 16 year old kids, a buzz box and a case of beer.
