Sorry Everyone seems this week's Ruby's Cruise At The Beach has been replaced by a talent filled Beachlife Festival with tickets going from $159 to $15000. WOW !!
Can I just get the ticket that has the police chase please !!
We try next week or two . Keep your foot in it !

I want to make one by Septembers end. I’m stretching out on our Friday nites this year. It’s about 40 miles and looking forward to going. I worked at that power plant when it was SCE’s and lived in a fraternity house on the beach when I went to Elca Mino from 62-65.

Martin is a special car owner and he realizes and practices the responsibilities necessary for owning a car of this caliber and he does it all enthusiastically . Funny the rumor is that I am the HAMB Photographer and as he saw me walking towards the car he got the duster out and joyfully went around the car with it explaining to me he does it numerous times so everyone can enjoy looking at it . Martin truly enjoys every moment . Quite awesome guy !

Yes and the gal working the lot security said September 30th so I will make personal inquiry starting tomorrow . I think Redondo Beach City Hall would know so I be there tomorrow . If not I try the Police and Fire Stations and Park& Recreation . I see lots of websites with stated info it's kind of shaky this internet info . Nothing beats walking in a door .

The only one I can confirm is what they call the last car show for this year at Ruby's . The King Harbor Association claims they are the organizer and so does Boyds . I think Boyds is a scam as they are pictured at an empty table at a local restaurant like seals barking for a free fish dinner .
King Harbor Association posts the last Ruby's Cruise At The Beach Car Show as being September 30 between 3 & 7 . They do recommend to come early and they do expect the car show to be HUGE . There is a band called Revolver and a raffle , they have t-shirts also .
So how early it does not specify but I'm going to be there around 2:30 . I'd bring a cooler and own drinks and snacks and plenty of restaurants and grocery market nearby where you can load up your cooler . A Whole Foods Market on PCH and a Vons east of the Whole Foods on Beryl/Prospect Ave .
I do not see anything concerning a car show on the 16th as Beachlife Festival is at the car shows location on that day and as for the 23rd I cannot verify yet as Boyds does not reply to replies I post on their posts in a respectful time frame . So 30th for sure and is last one this year

Glad to see the Ruby’s cruise back, too bad they are making it so seasonal. The weather down there is pleasant most of the year.
I used to go regularly when I had my shop in Redondo Beach. I’ve been thinking of taking our Corvair or my red coupe down and leaving it in the garage at our LA house so we have a hot rod to drive when we’re down there.
    Thanks for the coverage.

You are welcome bchctybob ! Hey did you cruise The Strand in the 70s ?
For those that want some Hot Rod history well on Friday nights and I mean every Friday night everyone in South Bay would cruise The Strand between Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach . So where Ruby's is now at well that was the turn around point and spectators would fill the lot and alot of cars would come out of the turn-around smokin 'em sideways . On a average was a thousand cars through the nite on upwards to probably 5000 cars . My friends had Mopars , there was a Car Craft cover car always there , Butch Patrick ( Eddie Munster ) and his gal in his Custom Corvette , uncorked headers would get muffled from the traffic it was so dense would take 30 minutes to go 20 small beach blocks sometimes almost an hour and best of all was the car loads of gals dolled up for the Cruise . I'd go in my 34 load us up in back Nick loved riding the running boards and talking to the gals in cars next to us sometimes he would climb in their car and sometimes I"d take out the 36 when it was less crowded . Ya man it was good clean fun we didn't need ' Organized Event ' back then and the lot was for spectators and cars cruised the street . Well now that street is all Toyotas and traffic but the old Cruise The Strand Soul is still very much alive !

That is interesting ya it's hard to find anything with any real balls on it anymore .
Ya it's an interesting subject so many posers claiming ' I got this ' , and I crack up over all these 32 parts ads I'm so sick of it I'm ready to kick my 32 project into deep space nine and section a 48 caddy coupe for kicks .
Back to the GREYHOUNDS??? thank you for the fresh advice I'm going to utilize it along with me looking for old chrome pock marks and the haze which becomes apparent which still can leave you questioning . I'd like to think the originals are just plain sharper lines than the posers have . Next time I go to my Original parts source I will see if he has an original . Hey you got a good eye Verde742 have a nice day !

Now I am adding ( editing ) as you have brought forward an important part of our culture I fear is being lost in our capability to make a FORD GREYHOUND appear at our doorsteps at the click of a button . I would like to ask all my fellow HAMBers to lay down the hammer on poser parts when they feel they are being duped when seeing a photo shoot on Ruby's . Your Photographer is a believer in Original over all others it is part of the game , the hunt and the Rite of Ownership which I believe carries rules that should be carried down thru the generations and not lost at the click of a button . I have been grading the cars I shoot on this thread by your likes and replys so I know what to shoot at the next car show if seen . I also think it would be fun to actually start a ' At That Moment ' HAMBers Round Table Judgement Panel so the car owners at the show can have instant knowledge that their REAL CAR is appreciated above the others or maybe also have another award for other categories such as ' Wildest Hot Rod ' . I'm going to see if I can utilize the HAMB Poll tool I need to study this as I am new to it and hopefully I can have a HAMBers Hammer Poll on the 30th . The 30th is the last Ruby's Car Show for this year so it would be exciting . Well I better get busy I've lots to learn about the Poll Tool . Yes poser cars will still be shot but excluded from the Poll .

I do believe that all cars should be scrutinized without mercy but also for all cars to be appreciated for the deep efforts of the car owners . This is how we build better cars .
