Rudy Rodriguez's super clean 32 roadster chassis MUST SEE

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by **DONOTDELETE**, Apr 18, 2004.

  1. What has he been doing?

Rudy's last few projects have been for people that dont want pictures taken of them for obvious reasons. This is his 32 Roadster he is getting ready for the Father's day show.

I have 6 pictures to download so please just let them come in without posting.

sit back, grab a drink and enjoy the photos.
Thank god Rudy likes our kind of cars.

If you want the best, or know someone who does, it will be for sale.

  7. We hung the doors on my 3 window saturday but I wont post shots of that for a while. The pictures dont do this car justice. It belongs in a museum.
I will post more as it gets closer to show time.

As we worked on my car, I had to stop and un-cover this thing several times. I am under it's spell.

Rudy has a very special talent. Thats all I can say.

    Top quality right there!

Maybe i'm screwed up, but i'd rather look at a well thought out, and nicely assembled chassis over many of the 'completed' cars i see...

    Damn thats nice!

    Rat..

  12. so i just picked up '32 rails for my '29 sport coupe' project... and i keep getting ideas, then i see a thread like this and the ante is raised... damn...

    GODDAMNED RESTORERS!

(ok, is my covetous jealousy hidden? k, good.)

    GODDAMNED RESTORERS! [IMG]

  20. I was thinking restored as well but there are so many
subtle personalized touches on the chassis you know it
will be a rod.The engine is hot for sure. [IMG]

  21. I'm not sure if it was clear in my first few posts, but this car is his and not a customer's. The body is about done and it will have tan leather interior.
Restored? Well, I guess the early hot rods did have 32 rears, 32 boxes, 39 trannys, and 32 wish bones. We all know him for doing radical things to cars and perhaps he wanted to "class" it up a bit.

Problem is, he did such a good job that he's scared to drive his own car. I wonder if the security guards at the Roadster show will let him behind the ropes for pictures?

That looks extremely nice! Very inspirational!

I am curious about the front motor mounts. Is that the way early flatty motor mounts were from the factory? I am so used to seeing the truck style motor mounts.

    Looks great!

  23. Mr. The Gooch, what's the skinny on why we can't see pictures of his customers cars? I guess it's not real obvious to me.

looks like the water pumps are on the opposite sides...tell us more about the mounting of the motor...that's a slick way to clean up the rails

That's how early flatheads were mounted. And I think every flathead block on up through '53 has provisions to mount the same way.

Those bolt on mounts are very rare and pricey nowadays. But I think somone is repopping them. Don't give lots of torsional rigidity, but look great.

That chassis is GORGEOUS. Absolutly PERFECT. My kind of car.

Paul, that’s looking sweet, another classic from Rudy, shame you cant show some of the other stuff, having been lucky enough to see one of the "other" projects I reckon they would go down well on here.

    Cheers Pete

  29. A very, very nice piece!!!

It kinda reminds me to one of the Kennedy Bros coupes I once saw at a So-Cal open house party. The black one, with white firewall and copper/bronze colored flatty...

    Great!!!

  30. my blood vessels are swollen, that is gorgeous.
