Try this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4633483486&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT I'm surprised that the reserve was set for $15,000. Now it is anyone's game. Nic.
With the reserve already met (if there was one) it will be interesting to see what it goes for. Frank
I do..but to be honest i'm not crazy about the amount of chop on it anyway. The chop itself is awesome, better than i could do for sure.. There's just something about the whole car with the radical angle chop that dosn't work for me. Maybe it is 'cause it sit's high..who know's. BUT, i'm deffinately NOT an expert at anything and i know my oppinion's not worth much.. I do wish him the best of luck with the sale of it.. Tony
Ive respected Rudy's work for ages but this one turns me right off. That extreme chop and angle is hideous. Makes you wonder why it is up for sale way before its finished; maybe he stood back and looked at it. And never mind "the way it was" **** either. No So Cal car of the 50's had rusted thru doors and I dont know of any 50's rodder who ran mechanical brakes on the street or strip, unless it was a bone stocker. Something just dont smell right but at $26.5K so far someone likes it!
Your right Clark it does sit too high but that can be corrected by the old suspension lowering schemes that have ben used since WWII. Flat front crossmember, flat reversed eye spring, deeper dropped axle. In the rear a flattened 40 crossmember, '40 spring, and C-notch. With a combination of the above you could have eating asphalt in no time. Frank
I talked to Rudy about it- he built it the way he wanted to build it. He has another one with less chop he's keeping to build for himself one day. Myself, less chop- more drop.
you guys are crazy. there isn't a damn thing wrong with that coupe, you'd own that in a new york second all of ya if you could....lol...i know i would. if it sits to high, big deal, how hard is it to lower a hotrod? lol
it's apples and oranges. his other cars went for $65 to $90K & this one is affordable for the regular guy... I have seen it in person and it sits just ****ing right...
We all know Rudy can do exceptional work. I think this one was thrown together quickly to make a few bucks....... And there's nothing wrong with making a few bucks .....either ..
I'm with Farmer. I love it. I love the al***ude and the radical chop. It's not yet another coupe unleashed on the world that is broken low... thank God. The price... C'mon, it's a steel '33 coupe for cryin' out loud! What do you expect?? I think it ****ing rules and he deserves every penny.
Been looking at that one too. I love the at***ude of it, and it would look SO sweet in the garage, but I have a few critiques about it too. Something wasn't sitting right with me, and I think it's this: The chop is too much in the front, and the line the roof makes is too flat compared to the rest of the pillars and surrounding bodywork. Look at the A pillar. The pieces don't even fit together and you can visally see a sweetheart section in the metalwork on the leading edge. I like the laid back windshield, but the side view isn't working well. Here's a few pics to describe what I'm seeing.
