Sigh...I wish I didn't have downtime this AM at work, so that I could avoid this cat fighting, but hey...it passes the time, right? :)

OK, so...Mr Holmes: Relative to "Dueces High", you suggested that "you don't even have a friggen clue that your CAR DON'T FIT HERE." (sic), suggesting that Mr. High's Chevy II doesn't fall into the "traditional" spectrum.

Let me suggest that Mr. High's car is, in fact, representative of one of the most popular topics on this forum. Simply do a search on the term "Gasser"...there are literally thousands of post/replies on the topic, some of which are "Gasser Wars" era topics, and a significant number of which ar "FX Wars" era topics. Mr. Highs car is representative of an FX car, and falls well within the pervue of the subject, as already established in the forum.

THOUSANDS of posts and/or replies about cars EXACTLY like Mr. High's car...with me so far?

Ok, so...your projects include a '40 Plymouth and a couple early/mid '50's Pontiacs. Speaking for myself, I like those cars, and I envy you that you own them, and I hope they turn out great and that you get satisfaction from them. I mean that sincerely.

Keep one thing in mind, though. On your website, you suggest that the '40 Plymouth build plan includes a Volare front end, power rack and pinion steering, front and rear disc brakes, and that you are still considering the use of air bags.

So, if we compare your project with Mr. High's Chevy II...the car that has an FX-era style clearing endorsed by the participants on this forum...

...I think a valid argument could be made that "you don't even have a friggen clue that your CAR DON'T FIT HERE."

    Just my $.02

From the TOS, you should read it. And I don't get to DECIDE, I'm merely quoting what you should already know if you're here. Reading is FUNdamental.

Does that imply that if I want to make my 72 Cutlass Supreme a GASSER that it is also acceptable here? Could Mr. High's car attend LSR without special permission? Or perhaps I should post my 70 Riviera low rider custom? Since it is a "custom" does it fit? The simple answer is "NO" because they do not meet the pre-determined age requirement even though they might fit a classification of modification.

And you may be correct in your evaluation of the coupe. However, I am not posting pictures of a highly non-traditional coupe even though it does fit the age requirement of the site. I am probably wrong here, (wouldn't be the first time) but I was operating under the knowledge that this was a pre-64 site for traditional hot rods. Since I am obviously wrong in that knowledge and assumption, I will bow out of this discussion and apologize to those offended. It is certainly not my site nor am I a "topic cop". Clearly the stuff posted in this thread is ON TOPIC or it would have been removed. I'm wrong. I'm sorry.

Oh I didn't know that you had to own a car that was a certain year to be a car nut. But if the cut off date here is evidentally around 1964 do these fit in a little better to your standards there Judge J.D.? The first photo is me with my first car which I still have after 30+ years.

Second is the car as I am currently tearing it apart.

There is also this car as well that belongs to my dad and I. It is a true old racer from the 60's and is just as found about 3 years ago. I am driving the 55 and dad is driving my Nova.

Man I sure hate it that I missed the Rumble. Looks like a GREAT show!!! I don't know why some of the people here have to get all twisted up about you posting some pics. Looks like everyone had a great time and I enjoyed looking at the pics. Thanks for posting them.

BTW..........I live in Ringgold and have friends in Ooltewah. Maybe we can hook up some time when I get my '66 Cadillac done. I have the body off the frame right now so it'll be a while........:D

The traditionalists are like the Minute Men/Boarder Patrol and the rat rodders are like illegal aliens. You can sympathize with the rat rodders because we've all had shitty cars an low cash. However the traditional guys don't want them getting too comfy here and trying to change time honored standards and practices. Its pretty simple really.

Second to no one in particular....another post that has gone to shit...we just wanted to see pictures of the rumble. If you don't like a certian type of car then dont click on the post and start crap. I know ppl. dont like this type of car, while others dont like that type of car. Me personally "I HATE GOLD CHAINNERS".
Hey Scott you post pictures of your car all day long as far as I am concern......screw em if they can't take a joke ...and joke em if they cant take a screw...lol
