Just another week to go!! The 55 has new front shocks and shoes all around. I'm cleaning out the ice chest today, and taking everything out of the trunk (There may be a few dead bodies in there, honestly; it's so far back I can't see the entire way.)

 

I still have stuff in my trunk from the SIM 2014 trip. Doing the same today. Going to put my rear view mirror back on, mount the original factory tach, and a general cleaning/polish session.

 

Since my shock and tire issues are resolved, I plan on driving the 55 to work every day this week. If anything else is a problem, I'll find out before I hit the road.

 

Looking forward to seeing that big ol Caddy!!!

 

Motoandy, the Beaver Bar is the coolest thing of the weekend. Just enjoy the rust.

 

Thanks, Jim! The previous owner had the complete interior re-done before I bought the car. It's one of the reasons I paid a little bit more for it. And it certainly keeps the wife happy.

Shoot, guess my Beaver Bar was meant for Toucan, my bad. Just remember Toucan, the full name is Rats At the Beaver. Most are high quality hot rods though.

 

Is everyone ready!!! I'm out of my broken car slump from last weekend and excited for this to happen. Wagon made a successful 1 hour test drive yesterday and then got some cleaning. Maybe she can make me happy with a smooth weekend trip. Can't wait to see everyone.

 

Almost ready. Just a good cleaning and a splash of gas and I'm there.

Dang just got a call for work for Friday ,Not gonna be able to come down to the show . No work for a week and a half and as soon as I book a room I get the call. Oh well gotta make some money.

 

There's always next year rtp. Understand you gotta eat.

 

Here's another "regrets" post. Driving to work this morning, the Caddy started missing and blowing far too much smoke from the drivers-side exhaust. My local mechanic tells me the #1 spark plug was not just fouled, but wet with oil. Apparently, there's a problem with that piston / cylinder. What's most frustrating is that it was running very well yesterday, all day long. Then today, pfffft! This is exactly the reason I was driving her back and forth to work all week long.

See ya next year, guys. Have a GREAT time, and I'm very sorry the big old Caddy won't be making the trip.

What's the weather forecast looking like up there this weekend? There is wet stuff here on Friday. Hope it stays away.

 

I registered today and snuck the comet in for a three night stay. Got a shade tree and some gr***y space behind the car. Location is the corner of 27Th and Oak. Directly across from BB&T.
