100 grand upfront for a car and some spares. around 5 grand per run. Add whatever for a truck and trailer.
Want to make a million dollars in racing..??? Spend ten million??? I spent 5 years working on a professional race team... One of the drivers I worked for once said... "All race cars do is separate me from my money"
3 Million minimum to be reasonably compe***ive. Or 300K for a decent Nostalgia top fuel operation ;-) Al in CT
LOTS of sponsors. I have a friend that has one. AFTER you get everything. Get everything tuned (which takes most of a season to figure out, for a "little guy"). He said it is about 4 to 5 grand or so a p***. Provided it doesn't self distruct alot. IHRA is much cheaper than NHRA to be "compe***ive" in.
100 grand? What, you don't want a motor? I can't say on a Top Fuel car but I do know for a fact that a Compe***ive Pro Stocker will cost damn near $250,000 to put on the track. Gotta think a Fuel car is a sight more
LOL,,,top fuel went past the $5MM per annum several years ago. And that is with just one (1) car and support vehicle.
You fill your pickup bed with cash money all the way to the top, then you put down the tailgate and jump on the highway and drive as fast as you can. That is what it's like.
