Does anybody have a trick way (without welding) to attach hard brakelines to a smooth Ford 9" for a short distance (from the drum backing plates to just inside the frame rails on either side)? Any pix?
The only other way I know of is to drill and tap or use self taping screws and a brake line clamp like you use down the frame. HRP
While we're on the subject in the back end, whose a good maker of the FLEX brake line in these set-ups? I don't want to put sub-grade foreign part in such an important role on my '55. (Didn't mean to hi-jack, but it seemed to tie in, guys!)

(from the drum backing plates to just inside the frame rails on either side) where they'll connect to flex hose.
You're going to drill thru or the threaded engagement won't be sufficient. Use sealer. Personally I just tack a few strips of heavy sheetmetal to duplicate factory style fold-over tabs. Why are you running dual lines? IMO it's more h***le and less clean looking than a single. Good luck with the project.
I just made up some sheet metal tags similar to OEM and mig welded them onto the housing. A quick grind up and they look like original and where I wanted them.
Thanks UncleDaddy for the TIP! As for the ocnnections, lots of solid recommendations here! The whole thing is about making it look good and making the fasteners prevent vibration that will cause stress and leaks.
Terminate the hard line on left and right inner frame rails and use a black rubber brake hose from the lines directly to the left and right wheel cylinders.
