Projects Runstand

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rustedorrotting, Nov 11, 2023.

  1. I am building an engine runstand for a model 59 Ford flathead v8. I am trying to buy a radiator but shipping is prohibitive. Has anyone used 2 small radiators in place of the original?

That's thinking outside the box, very good idea if you have two radiators, flatheads are left and right side cooling anyway.

It would require two fans I’d think, after that cost of two electric fans, etc, might be best to locate a FH radiator?

Do you think you could use some T's and plumb 2 into 1's ? I'm thinking of doing the same. It's temporary and I don't want to invest too much in it. It doesn't have to go down the road. Mike

When I built my run stand, I bought a fork lift radiator from a local shop that modified/added inlets/outlets for flatheads and FEs.

Yes. That's how I run a flathead on my test stand. Works just fine.
