Russ did all my ceramic coating on my roadster when I built it a dozen years ago, still looks brand new. He also did some textured powder coating for me and of course some louver stamping in my truck hood. He was a kind man, always had time to show me around the shop and his projects. It was an honor to know him and I wish him a peaceful eternity. Condolences to his wife, Cedric and the family.

Russ amazed me every time I saw something new he had created. Truely a mind with no limits the hotrod world lost a great one.

    RIP

The nomad is back in the Meeks hands and Cedric has it at his house and is working on it.
    RIP Russ

RIP...... Everything I've read, he was very down to Earth. He also built the A panel for Street Rod magazine, as well as being the tech editor.

So sorry to hear….Russ was a good friend and we spoke often. I was with him and his family when they set speed records at Bonneville. I also talked to his son last year at Speedweek….. I will miss my friend. JD.

Damn, Damn, damn, good and great men should never leave us, I spoke to him via phone often after buying my 34, as he put the Jag IFS/IRS in it for Sebastion when he had it (we talked about what a weirdo Sebastion was). Our world has lost another great innovator and true, true rodder. Rest my friend rest, where ever the universe finds you now.

I heard this awhile back, and thought I'd read a post here also about Russ passing? But seems I was mistaken, and saw it someplace else? Russ was a legend around here, but also highly regarded beyond our local area.
Cedric told me almost a year ago that Russ wasn't doing well, but still tough to hear of his passing.

I remember when his rear engined Roadster was new, features in a magazine that featured a lot of other PNW cars. Rest in Peace.

He was an "outside of the box" thinker...his mind was always racing. VERY intelligent, talented and down to earth as can be. I really admired the guy!
    My condolences to the family.

"T" Willy introduced us at an ISRA run in the '70s ... after talking with him for 5 minutes, it was like we'd known each other for years.

    RIP, Russ ...

May 10th is Portland Tranny show, so hit it in the morning, and leave early to head to Russ's Memorial!

  28. Correct me if I’m wrong ( and I might be) but is this the same Russ Meeks who built a 54? Chevrolet once referred to as the “Up and Down “ custom due to its suspension system?
