    Hey,

Thanks for posting the photos of the fender work. I love seein' photos of work done before the days of " squirtgun welders" and " Fender-In -A-Can" made everyone a ''metalman".
Were the side panels, the quarters and doors hammerwelded or ground and leaded?

What a great project! Thank again,

Is this the same guy I sold my sectioned 58 chev pickup to? If so do you still have it? Are you working on it, or have any info as to its whereabouts?

I would add a few inches back to it and restore it to stock.

  11. I'm normally not a fan of doing anything to any Nomad, but this thing looks really cool.

I am of the thought that nothing should be done to a Nomad... but this looks amazing! The black makes it a masterpiece...

  13. I haven't talked to J.C. since about Aug. I do see Earl and Wayne on a semi weekly base so I would ***ume Jack is Fine. It's a shame when Tunnel vision and a few miles keep friends apart. Think I'll just E-Mail him right now.

  19. Just heard from J.C. He's doing fine. He and Jim Albranch are building a new dry sump system for the 33 Willys with the Donovan in it. Die Hare racers never slow down.

  21. Trying to get Russ to change his mind would take more than the 3 of us. His mind was made up many Years ago about that Car. Personally I like having Russ as my Friend. I'd rather not piss him off and become un-welcome in his Shop. Having Russ on board with bringing it back around would be nice but I have NO idea how that would happen.
    Good luck with that.

  22. I understand where your comon from,I just wish we could talk to him Lona said it was a VERY sore spot with him and not to bring it up ......hopefully he will see that people see this a his legacy and restoring it is a honor to his legacy...kinda like the other thread where Russ's mentor Gene Winfeilds old shop truck was found (in oregon) and is in texas being restored to its former glory, hell gene is happy as hell about it according to people that know him....this wagon should live on as a piece of hotrod history.....wish Russ could see that but who knows....deep down he's gotta be proud somebody else cares about this....and many of us love & respect Russ and are glad to see the wagon comin along..........cant wait to see it in person again

well ya know what ill still try, but i truly thank all of you for your support, there has been many times i thought of pulling my hair out and getting this thing gone. i think he was told things that are not true from some people, i will not metion any names, they did it so they could stay in his good grace. as far as im concerned russ is and always will be a super builder of our times. i hold no ill feelings toward him and i only wish him the best. hell im one lucky dude i have my childhood dream car and a part of history. thanks russ for a great car.

    Hey,

Jus' in case you're ever asked to play "Old Mopar Trivia".......both '57 & '58
Chryslers used 4 headlamps, excepting '57 Saratogas which had singles.

Hope things develop well with Russ & the build.

hey pimpin paint the car was all gas welded, ground and leaded. the body was in great shape for all that this thing has gone through. the front end was the worst but the late great von hunter re-did all the lead work on the hood and head lamps, before he past away. von was super so is his son scott, von did the paint and stuff on the famous orange crate. he is sadly missed. i wish i could ask russ but what ive been told he sectioned in a single car garage in cali when he was working for gene winfield.
