I just found this thread. Very cool. Just wondering about how it holds up? Is it basically just a paint?

I have seen the bumper that Skip did in person.
This stuff is like paint, but it does look like chrome. Even thought Skip said that the bumper was not right, it still looked great.
I'm sure it is not for everyone, but I have a valve cover that was never produced in chrome and I think I'm gonna let him do it just to see how long it holds up on a motor in an open car.

  7. Ok, Ok, I know its not automotive related, but we have alot of New Orleans Saints fans in the family, so I did a plaster few fleur de lis'.....

My local powdercoater/electro-plater told me about $300-$400 per bumper, to strip, straighten, and plate.

this was about 6 months ago. The upper end of that range he said would be on bumpers that needed a little more work (scratches, dings, etc).

This place does a whole lot of powdercoating, so as chroming isn't the main focus that might make it more affordable for them.

    some bling for your grill?

    haha

  10. Apparently 'habit is too busy spraying this stuff to share a little more with us!!!

I've gotta modified grill I'd like to get done - but I'm not quite sold yet.

Parts are all boxed up and ready to ship - looks like they'll be going to the chrome shop after all.

That is unless anyone knows anybody spraying this stuff in Michigan??? if so, I'll go check it out ASAP.
