Hot Rods rust preventing coating or paint

    Stripping and repainting door latches on Woodie, I'll paint the face side to closely match the original color but want coating for the inside that will prevent the reappearance of surface rust. I'd prefer something clear but maybe galvanizing spray or ?? I don't want a heavy coating as there are springs in the mechanisms. Any suggestions

    Used this in the past works well goes on like regular primer then just paint over top
