My first hot rod project circa 1976' Bought it complete less engine for $75, only rusty in the rear panel. Stripped it down. Started boxing the frame and gave up. Pushed the shell over a bank. These things were very common in NZ back then and I really wanted an American car. Don't think I would do that today.
That's a mighty curious looking plant growing in front of that truck. Maybe that has something to do with how the truck ended up on it's side.
all that was left of a shoebox ford. just a few minutes north east of detroit MI. shelby township??? i forget.. anyway, a girl i was seeing actually took me to see the car cuz she knew i would get a kick out of it. i took what i could.... but there wasnt much left, the car litterally rotted into the ground(and was picked over), you can see the back of the springs in the picture. it was a swamp/edge of woods. i was gonna cut the thing out of the tree cuz it was in REALLY good shape. but i didnt want to get arrested when the huge ****er came down with boom! i think it was private property. i think the area got developed, but.. theres a chance its still there. it had a good set of rear window frames i believe(the body was in pieces) but i didnt have a chordless sawsall.
LOL, this one is killing me! looks like she picked a good final resting place! probably died from a bad case of the munchies!
Hey Kurt, Most of those pics were in N.Z. other then the A which I think got dug out and is in US somewhere, lots of the cars here were ***embled here from imported parts (used to be high duty on imported vehicles to encourage the local ***embly) so they are basically similar to the real thing, GM stuff was from Canada for the Pontiacs are 1/2 chev and the plymouths are 1/2 dodge kinda deal.....Mostly 4 door stuff after WW2 and lots less odd US stuff, pretty much British stuff and Chev/Ford/Dodge from there on.
C'mon guys! Those pictures have to fake. Everybody knows there are no more old cars out there, not anywhere, to find, don't they?
Here's a link to some great rusty relic pictures that are up on the Ol' Skool Rodz board. You won't be dissapointed: http://forum.olskoolrodz.com/showthread.php?t=34143
