Didnt get a shit load done today...at least it didnt seem like it finished the welding on the quarter panel (except for the very end where it meets the trunklid) and finished welding up most of the B pillar.

And got it rolled outside so I could clean up the shop a bit and see it from more than a few feet away, pretty happy ! Might be able to get a good chunk of the drivers side welded up this week (I hope).

I feel like such a slacker .... I started with such a great body & haven't progressed nearly as far in my efforts as you. You sir .... are an inspiration.

I need to bust a move on my ride!!

  8. You should finish the car and leave all the welds unfinished (for a while anyway). People aren't going to believe you otherwise. LOL

    Looking good.

Wife didnt say much lol, well other than complaining when I pressed her into service to help lift the sedan roof off ! Its funny I have met some new friends who just dropped in cause they saw the car outside at various times...one guy stopped in this weekend and said he was going to pick up a Model A p/u that he found, cause he was inspired by what I have done with this thing ...the wife would be much happier if I was working on the 48 Dodge Carson topped survivor ...

Cool! See what a good influence you are to others????
Well... except to your wife (cough cough Dodge).
When this car is done.. if you don't start on that Dodge I'll gather up some "muscle" and we'll come up there and put a whoopin on you if you haven't got that baby being worked on.
Ok ok.. stop laughing.. you've seen me and I'm sure you ain't worried.

  13. I didn't mean unpainted, I meant with the welds not ground back, but still painted (in something cheap obviously). :)

Then when people stop asking, you can paint it.

You know you're going to have to take a photo album around with you everywhere with the 'before' pics.

Ahh got ya ! I have actually thought about leaving most of it like that except for the up coming top chop :D I did that with my ol 48 Chevy 4 door turned pickup. I would rather drive it sooner and I wont likely be finished all the kustom work by then so there is a good chance of it happening!

You sir, are the man. This build is just unbelievable, what talent. And to think, I'm worried about patching the rockers on my 55.

You should see some of the rotten 55's I saved over the years...The last few years is the 1st time I have been 55-less since I was 14 yrs old ! They are just so expensive now might not ever get another one .

    I hope it's a good trunk lid!
I never really looked that close at what you had.. is the inside of the one you have shot too?
An English Wheel would do a nice job to the skin-bottom.
By the way.. Fred was way impressed with your progress. He's still trying to get things together to go up. Honest...

The inside is way worse than the outside lol ! I was gonna cut up the sedan lid and use the bottom of it to save this one...it might end up bein more work than the roof swap lol ! If its as good as he says its way better than mine and would save me a pile of work .

Subscribed to your thread to make it easy to check on your progress. It's been a week or so since I've taken a look. So glad to see you got the top on, and buttoning things up. Lookin' real good. Also very pleased to hear that you're gonna chop it, and create a full-custom...I was hopin' you would...gonna be so cool. Ya know, Mr. Kemp...if a guy started with a car that was at about the stage you're at right now, people would call him ambitious. LOL. You're somethin' else. Your dedication, your vision...awesome. BTW...kinda proud that you're using my suggestion to name it "Resurrection". Of course, it wasn't due to any genious on my part...straight from the title of your thread...totally fitting though. All the best to you sir. :) Rick

Thanks Rick ! I am hoping to maybe start on the chop in the next couple of weeks , there are other more impaortant things to do on it but that will be more fun :D didnt get too much done this weekend ... got the ol Pontiac out to the first decent local show on Sat with Flatheadfever till it started to rain, it was a 90 min drive home , a quick nap then into Halifax to see Steve Miller , front row at the stage , been waiting 30 yrs to see him live , great show !! All I got in was a few hours today ..

Spliced in the bottom of the 4 door B pillar and got it welded up. Then started on fitting the top and bottom halves of the quartes together.

And I also scored this trunklid at the show ...it is not great but alot better than the one I have . The original sedan lid is really clean so if it looks like I can make it work I will use the bottom few inches of it to repair this one.

    Hey Steve...
Rick said he saw you for a bit and the you disappeared into the crowd.
Now between the two trunk lids you should be able to make one. Joining things together should be quite easy for yuo now. ;)

Cool that you got to see Steve Miller. How was the concert?
